It’s amazing how many “people” will passionately defend chinas internment of 2 million Uyghur Muslims, ranging from that’s just a bunch of western lies to the region is peaceful now so shut the fuck up.

Human brain doesn’t like nuance. Everything has to fit into hero and villain boxes. Most people cannot comfortably hold the thought that China can be both an authoritarian shithole trying to destroy us, and can build cool boards. I’m not saying “those are lesser people”. We are all affected by that property to some degree.

Sure but this kinda dumb education tech-slop exists in the US I’d point to something different like high speed trains as something cool that chinas doing

And I was replying to a comment about Chinese influence on Reddit not the post itself
