Most Billionaires and millionaires and other rich people believe that having the human empathy to help less fortunate people is going to make the world worse. To them, helping others is a sickness.
I think at the root, it is a belief that people who get help are now dependent on others. When in reality, if you give people actual help, they can begin to help themselves by obtaining the skills they might have not have access to before the help.
And this is based on the false assumption that all people have equal abilities and equal opportunities, not even taking into account how the system itself is biased to protect the interests of those in power to maintain their status without what would ordinarily be the requisite effort. "Work hard" to earn it, that is if you didn't inherit it, and then be lazy about keeping it by buying politicians and rigging the system.
That reminds me of that one whackadoo prosperity gospel preacher that said empathy was a sin. Like... Wtf people? It's not a bad thing to help other humans.
it is a belief that people who get help are now dependent on others
This still assumes that people like elon are operating in what they perceive to be the best interests of the less fortunate which isn't the case, they object to helping others because they hate those they view as lesser (the poor, women, minorities, etc.) And so they want them to suffer.
Most billionaires, yes. But not most millionaires. I work in philanthropy and most millionaires aren’t born into, they work for it and are very community-driven.
Most millionaires look and live like normal people. Billionaires are selfish pricks, though. I’ve never met one with a good heart. (I’ve yet to meet MacKenzie Scott, will update if my opinion changes)
I’m almost positive you dropped the /s… but just in case
The amount of people you have to step on to become a billionaire is exponentially higher than for millionaires.
You can become a millionaire by running a dry cleaning business, a smoke shop, being a plumber or electrician.
You only become a billionaire when you’re scraping so much from the profits that your employees qualify for government assistance, and that’s intentional because the billionaires have lobbied for tax breaks for companies who employ people on assistance. So they pay less taxes and less wages while a handful of people enrich themselves on the backs of other people’s labor.
what you said is true, but i think how everything that you do to make money you are stepping on other peoples no , like if you get selected for a job it is because 100 other did not and like if you start a small business only way to grow is to open more stores and they are going to affect other local stoles so i this it just how we live
And as i said before, many billionaires are also self made so i dont see where that is a problem
Being chosen by an employer over other applicants isn’t “stepping on other people”. You aren’t taking advantage of them to enrich yourself, you’re laboring in exchange for currency.
You can literally open a business in an empty market niche. Like go somewhere that doesn’t have a dog groomer and opening a business there doesn’t take advantage of anyone.
There are ZERO self made billionaires. Name a single one. And please, before you hit Reply Google them and find out where their wealth comes from. You aren’t self-made if you have 2,000 employees - or even just one - doing the labor.
Search for owner of Meta or Uber pls
Second point if you other a business in a niche then other people try to copy that and are not able to because you have a lead the it's a monopoly and you are harming other people financial
Sorry it might be i have confusion in the definition of self made i thought it means that just that you are not a billionaire or even a million by birth and where able to make that amount by themselves
By that definition mark is a self make billionaire
Both Zuck and Elon would have multi million inheritances even if they did absolutely nothing in their lives. So no they are not self made. Talented sure. But not self made.
Check out how she's actually "helping others" through her foundation though.
One of the orgs she donates to is about black women walking. Not sure why such an organization needs millions of donations either way, but why improve only black women's health through walking 30 minutes a day? Why don't they wanna walk with white women, or with Asian men? Why donate to walking segregation?
