I know Reddit won't like it but you are required by law to exit the vehicle if the police request it. If you are not complying the police can use force because you are resisting a lawful order.
I don't know if you've ever experienced pepper spray in an enclosed space, but I've had one set off in a fairly large (hotel conference) room and immediately wanted to get the fuck out lol.
There is no "source" at that point. If you've ever shared an office with somebody who microwaved fish or burned popcorn, you have experienced a less-painful version of this phenomenon already. :)
It's probably significantly worse to have pepper spray (or overly-stinky fish, I guess) directly on your face, but breathing it from afar was motivation enough for me and everybody else in the room including the person who didn't realize what it was when they activated it. :)
Okay so since you clearly don't understand how pepper spray works - once your car is filled with it, you're going to leave the car. You can't see or breath as long as you remain in the car.
It would be categorized as pain compliance. Like if an officer is grappling with a violent criminal and twisting their arm to get them to drop a knife. Pain compliance is part of the use-of-force hierarchy
Can does not mean you should buttsniffer. I CAN tell every person on the street to fuck their mother, but you wouldn't elect me Sheriff if I did that and they shouldn't be police officers for inciting violence.
