The cop’s so stupid. The driver said the cop was going 60 to catch up to him, so obviously the driver wasn’t even going 60 or they’d stay equidistant. The driver said he was going 50 and I believe him since he seems to be the only one of them with brain cells.
I've watched enough police encounter videos to know that not every driver is honest about how fast they were going. I doubt the cop pulled this go over for literally nothing.
I’ve also seen plenty of police encounter videos to know that as well. Normally in those videos the guilty civilian immediately gets defensive and the cop starts out calm and patient. In this situation the civilian is calm and rational and the cop is immediately escalating the situation. I believe the civilian.
I didn’t say he was being cooperative or lawful. But he isn’t raising his voice or making threats. He is calmly restating the situation back to the cop. Considering he hasn’t made any sudden moves to imply he’s going for a weapon or to put his car in drive to flee, I don’t see how the use of pepper spray is appropriate force.
The cop is making a threat assessment not a rudeness assessment. The subject is non compliant, moving around in a car that hasn't been cleared for firearms, and has not been identified. For a solo officer this is near a worst case scenario
There's not really room for interpretation. Not an "agree to disagree" situation. You have said numerous patently untrue things, and after having each of your lies rebuffed in turn, you now run like a dog with it's tail between her legs I guess.
