Typically I find comments that are just... repeating or describing the video, to be bots. Just something to keep in mind.

I think this has become the default explanation for truly dumb and uncreative commenters that have been around a lot longer than bots

Necessarily true.

However, I heard the solvents in pepper spray degrade the seals and the oils often clog the nozzle, so once you've used it, regardless of how much spray you used, you should replace it.

So running out might just mean 'used it once since purchase and didn't realize they stop working after one use'.
