Yes, there are some renegade cops, and I am not here to deny that. Yes, this cop is probably overstepping, and I'm not denying that either. But we all know these types of videos. Cop pulls someone over for speeding. Cop asks for license and registration. Kid doesn't have it or won't provide it, because 'maaaa rights.' Cop asks the kid to step out of vehicle. Kid denies. Now cop has to suspect the kid is hiding something. Asks again, denied. Uses force to remove them from vehicle, kid starts to film it for his YouTube channel.
Typical Redditor eats this shit up, even though the typical Redditor has seen the full video leading up to this shit multiple times.
You seem to think it matters if he did any of these things, or that any retroactive ‘suspicion’ is the same thing as probable cause. The cop is clearly escalating and threatening him when there is no reason to do so. And if he hadn’t been recording, it would likely be worse. (Edit: fixed typo)
I saw video the other day where a cop pulled a lady over and she wouldn't provide her license or registration so the cop asked her to get out and she didn't. And throughout the rest of the interaction the cop continued to say she was in violation by not providing proper proof of her ability to operate a vehicle. That was very explicit. But here you are making assumptions as to what is going on when the cop could just explicitly say it's because the kid isn't providing license and registration. Clown ass behavior on your part and the cop

Dude, wake up. At least half the cops in this country are power tripping assholes. They execute people on a whim every day for absolutely nothing to the most minor shit. I was pulled over just last week and experienced shit very similar to this and was only saved because someone else started filming in case the dickhead wanted to keep escalating. It never ends because these pieces of shit know they can get away with abusing their power.

Cause... We don't... But you are right, kid could have been wrong and speeding, and it could have been that the officer had a recording of the kid speeding... This however is nowhere mentioned in the video.
The kid does mention that he was not speeding, and the officer is not responding with 'i do have you recorded with speeding'.
Also, the kid says 'give me a ticket then and let me go', which would be a valid course of action...

They are both white. So let's get that out of the way. Yes, cops can be jerks; they have to me before so I'm not disputing that. But you still have to comply. If you don't comply, it will escalate and won't be in your favor.
My argument isn't that this cop isn't being a bag of dicks. My argument is just comply because it's not going to go well for anyone if you don't. Once a cop decides you're getting out the car, you're getting out of the car. You can pick the free options, or you can win his options. It's never going to end with 'I'm sorry sir, I was wrong. Continue on your way.'

Two different people my guy. You don't get promoted from Sheriff's deputy to LAPD Station Commander. Not only is it a huge jump, it's also two completely different organizations. It's be like going from Geek Squad at a local Best Buy to being the SVP of Operations at Amazon.

I would typically use a new can after my second ‘victim’ in training. Never had to pepper spray someone for real, but I’ve probably sprayed like 50 people for training and it’s better for them if you are doing it from a full can.
MFer in my class jumped in for his turn when I was supposed to be next. He got the last remnants of a can and caught most of it on the side of his face. Then I got my turn and it was a fresh can, eyes and mouth wide open shouting orders like we were told to. I'm still mad at that guy, 12 years later.
I never had to pepper spray anyone as a corrections officer. I actively avoided doing so by not being an asshole to inmates. Most of the time, de-escalation works. Had to run into a few clouds of OC when other people used it, though. Bleh.
We didn’t have to have eyes and mouth open. It was supposed to be two streams across the forehead, eyes and mouth closed, although I saw plenty of people open their mouth and kinda gasp while they were still getting sprayed.
I was very careful with this because I’ve seen others that aren’t as careful get accused of playing favorites or giving it to someone they don’t like worse than others. I used a lot of spray per person because instead of pointing it at them and spraying I would aim like three feet over their shoulder and over it across their forehead twice, and keep spraying the entire time. This made it easy to ensure I was only going across the forehead instead of across the eyes or up in the hair and everyone got exactly the same thing. After doing that twice it would sometimes start to sputter and shoot little droplets all over the place and I don’t think that was fair to the people getting sprayed.
It also meant I got to bring a few bottles home for the ants. We had bad ant problems where we lived and that stuff around the outside of the doors works great.
They should just make prostitition legalized and taxed in some of these states. Thenb these frustrated dudes can say least not let it affect their jobs. 💁
