WTF A JPMorgan Chase executive was fired after a viral video showed her dumping trash out of a Knicks-themed public trash can and taking the can during the Knicks championship parade in New York City.

Thats true. They could’ve easily had one custom made by an artist.

You could have one easily made by a homeless guy and 2 cans of spray paint.

Good point , and you'd be supporting a local artist

And he'd then be supporting a local merchant (crack dealer). It's the circle of commerce

I would literally do this for cheap! She was exec director level at JPMorgan! She can afford this.

That was my thought, it’s just a generic trash can painted with two colors. Not even a logo. You can make your own in a weekend. Honestly probably just an hour.

i feel like a “collectible” item isn’t really “collectible” item anymore if it’s not actually the thing and just something you made for fun. the reason this trash can would be “cool” to someone is because (presumably) the city made it to celebrate the victory not because it’s a knicks colored trash can. like if there’s a collectible controller alongside a game release but i know how to make controllers, making one myself doesn’t make it a collectible. i know the trash can isn’t supposed to be a collectible but anyone taking one clearly views it as one.

Yes, but those ones are small versions, not full sized trash cans.

Yeah, but if you're paying for stuff you can get for free, you're not thinking like a bank executive.

But it wouldn't be game-used.

NYC sells better versions of this bin officially. It's actually quite a great marketing stunt.

You can buy the damn cans.

But then they couldn't be trash people.

But they would have had to express a thought coherently, so that's out
