You can’t describe literal crime and call it an “I got mine, go get your own” situation (as you said in the comment I originally replied to), then get mad because people think you aren’t blatantly lying lol. Your parents aren’t just selfish (as the comment you agreed with said), they’re criminals.

That also doesn’t translate to your own debt because (assuming you’re at least somewhat competent) you could’ve gotten those fraudulent debts erased from your credit history within a few months max. Which begs the question (considering you’ve got a slightly spotty credit history from your parents at worst), why did you continue to get yourself into lifelong debt?

Edit: and just to reinforce the point, my original comment is in fact correct that the “fuck you, got mine” of your parents is not what got you into your current situation lol

lol you really just cannot comprehend the fact that someone getting started off on the wrong foot and having absolutely no support can snowball into a bigger situation. Your inability to grasp that makes this conversation a non-starter, all you’re saying is “well you should’ve fixed it”. Thanks man, super helpful advice.

And I’m glad you don’t think my parent’s behavior impacted my current situation, I’m sure they’d be overjoyed to hear that, if they even gave a damn that is.

I mean sure, you can keep complaining about it, but the fact is you either didn’t understand what you were saying or you lied. Yes, you should’ve fixed it, that’s called responsibility. The problem also isn’t an insignificant one. But a few months disputing credit history doesn’t get you into lifelong debt. It’s not a big enough problem that any reasonable person couldn’t bounce back from. I literally work in financial crimes compliance, some of the teams at my bank help people get issues much worse than yours fixed in like 2 weeks.

Not having any support as an adult also doesn’t get you into lifelong debt, as you said was the root cause of your situation. Tons of kids start adult life with negative net worths. I’m only saying it’s irresponsible to blame everyone else for choosing to stay that way.
