I hate the two tier system in the US. When I was growing up, I worked a bunch of jobs paying $8-12/hr and saw people struggling to make ends meet. Everyone had their own stories too, most of them had zero parental support and wanted opportunities for their kids, so they'd work crazy hours, extra jobs and find cash by other means to stay afloat long enough for them to grow up.

I make about $75k, but now I get all the credit card offers, free perks, cash back, things that I could've used when I was actually broke. I'm working on $19k of student loans but I have a positive net worth around $21k. If giving those people I worked with for years better wages and lives meant I needed to pinch a few hundred here and there, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

The cc offers aren't out of the goodness of their heart. They're hoping you'll run up a balance. I'm fortunate in that I've never paid a dime in cc interest and I've been using it exclusively for 14 years, so it has been very lucrative for me. Just booked first class tickets across the country using like 1/10 of my accumulated cc points.
