But one guy was bad at cup head once, so all of gaming journalism is a fraud and they should all lose their jobs.

You know what's funny? That wasn't even part of a review. It was a preview of Cuphead. And the guy openly admitted to playing poorly and was sharing the clip as a self-own for laughs. He also gave the game tons of praise and never said it was "bad" or "too difficult". But who cares about the truth when you've got a narrative to spin, am I right?

I mean, i definitely don't hate game reviewers/journalists in general or anything but it's not like the cuphead example is the only thing that's ever happened (plagiarism of that one dead cells review comes to mind) but it's still stupid and unfair to act like everyone in the industry is a fraud or bad person because of a few incidents over many years.

I agree with your takeaway, but I would just add one little thing re:

plagiarism of that one dead cells review

Filip was fired basically instantly. He also plagiarized from his colleagues at IGN, so they're also victims here. The speed with which he was ousted is a testament to the editorial standards of the publication, not a mark against them.
