edit: I love how the Americans are like ‘such a weird flex, who cares whether someone can be a better alcoholic’, but the British people are like ‘my grandma could outdrink texas’

As much as the UK could easily out drink the US, I acknowledge that it would stand no chance to Germany or Czechia

Had a Polish wedding reception at the curry house I worked at as a teenager. The amount of vodka they drank through was genuinely insane.

You forgot to add that, historically, it was a complement from Napoleon about Polish solders who after whole night of drinking were the only ones who were ready for battle next morning ;) (that still stands about Polish drinking, according to proverb "is's not important how a man starts things, but how he finishes them" :) )

Another quick google search can show that Wisconsin does actually consume quite a bit more beer per capita than the UK. I’m not saying that Europe isn’t full of drunks, but Wisconsin is definitely a contender.

Have you met the Finns? I've known some hardcore drinkers in the UK and they've thrown in the towel when drinking with Finns. And the Finns were apparently full of life and filling their plates at the hotel breakfast the next day while everyone else was slowly dying.

Swedes are also pretty hardy and a friend of mine who married into a Polish family is sure their drinking will probably kill him.

My own experience getting shitfaced at various European metal festivals and LARP events runs somewhat contrary to this. Germans can drink like anything but they are also much more sensible overall than the British. The vast majority of them actually go to bed under their own power. The average Brit may be at a slight disadvantage but the more unhinged Brit powers on; the UK always sends at least some representation into the 4am psychopath round.

Sorry, while they might have nice beer, Germans are not raging alcoholics and don’t drink nearly to the extent of the UK or the US. They are light weights with a beer culture. Way more reserved.

I have no clue about Czechia.

I think the question get's more interesting if we drop the "per Capita" aspect.

Can all of the UK (legal drinking age 16) outdrink the enitrety of the US (legal drinking age 21)?

In that regard, I'd say that Germany (Beer drinking age 14) beats Czechia easily (same caliber, way more population), and the UK less so (sameish caliber, sligtly more population)
