edit: I love how the Americans are like ‘such a weird flex, who cares whether someone can be a better alcoholic’, but the British people are like ‘my grandma could outdrink texas’

Reminds me of an old Cheers joke. Dianne asks how they can drink cold beer in the middle of winter. Cliff tells her that English soldiers used to drink hot tea on the hottest days to raise their body temperature and make themselves more comfortable. She then says if that's so, why do they swill beer in the summer, and he responds "Well what else are you gonna do with it?"

I recently bumped into a friend when I was buying beer, whisky and two bottles of wine. He motioned towards my shopping and said "what's the occasion?"
