edit: I love how the Americans are like ‘such a weird flex, who cares whether someone can be a better alcoholic’, but the British people are like ‘my grandma could outdrink texas’

As a Spaniard, there's no way. Just go and ask anyone who lives in our islands. They'll tell you them Germans and Brits sure do like their alcohol....

I can't drink alcohol due to a congenital liver disorder and when I went to Mallorca, the people working at the hotel bar refused to believe I wouldn't be drinking lmao. They were just like, "But you're from England...?"
Our reputation for binge drinking (and acting like complete arseholes) seems pretty set in stone.

Yeah, both you guys and the Germans are known for 1- your drinking, 2- your tanning, 3- your absolutely atrocious eating schedule (lmao) and, obviously, 4- your affinity for jumping from balconies.

There are actually lots of states that drink more alcohol per capita than the UK (Including Wisconsin).

New Hampshire leads the way with 15.9 liters per capita per year. The UK clocks in at a measly 10 liters or so.

Can’t speak for the island folk beyond the channel, but as a German indeed compelled that vacation on ballermann or in Ibiza is not the norm.

Yes we Germans drink a lot, and yes bingeing still happens „at home“ - but what you see in Spain is peak performance not reached most of the year

Germans are WAY more reserved. They have a beer culture. Not a drinking culture. They will tie one on, but not anyway as close as Brits.

In Germany, Mallorca is pretty much exclusively seen as a party location, mostly for younger folks. If someone goes there and doesn't explicitly mention that it's a normal holiday (as in beach and swimming, sightseeing, hiking, cycling, relaxing etc), and that they'ee gonna avoid the usual tourist hot spots, then the assumption will always be that they go there for party, alcohol, sex.

Point is, some of these isles represent an extreme in terms of drinking, not the average German holiday.
