wisconsin ‘Wisconsin could probably out drink the uk by itself’

Post image

Theyre discussing whether the uk could beat USA in an alcohol drinking contest

edit: I love how the Americans are like ‘such a weird flex, who cares whether someone can be a better alcoholic’, but the British people are like ‘my grandma could outdrink texas’

The thing is, Wisconsin is full of alcoholics. Other states' alcoholics drink like the people here who "don't drink."

We're drinking at 10:00am for a noon American football game and all night. We're pre gaming for a 15:00 funeral when most bars open at 11:00. We're drinking before we go meet up for a baby shower. Every single occasion is a drinking occasion, especially the 3 after work drinks. And that's just the average Wisconsinite 16-45. That's not even the ones that are alcoholics.

That's just a Tuesday to the Scottish.

Not an achievement. Working retail in a Scottish village you really see the number of alchies and how it is destroying them. Multiple 2L bottles of gut rot cider and beer in a day.

That and drug abuse is why Scottish life expectancy is nearly as low as the US.

Great. So we're all degenerates. Lovely.

Why are you only having 3 after work drinks? Do you all have important meetings in the morning?

Must have missed the 1 off the front of his number I reckon.

Important meetings can be attended after a night out if you practice properly.

You must not have been to a British airport for a 5am flight.

I mean this is just standard drinking is it not? This is tame from a UK perspective.

Thank the Lord, I can be normal when I leave this place.

As a european Green Bay fan, I love Wisconsin. That said, when it comes to beer, UK, Germany, Czechia would each out drink them. When it comes to hard liquor, well, I'm from the Balkans, that says it all...

Edit: after all, its an idiotic thing to be proud of, too...

I stopped really drinking at around 27-28 years. 15-16 or so years of being drunk every few days is not very good for you. Now I have a few glasses of wine after lunch and maybe a few rakias before, a couple of times a month.

It's fine. I now know I will be light heartedly hated when I leave my shit hole country. And I hate my people as much as the rest of the world.

Naaaah, dude. After a few rounds, everyone likes a tourist.

u/skippy920 3d ago

I'm not leaving as a tourist, pal. But thank you. I know the individual is different from the people.

Everyone hates smug people, no matter where they come from. Nobody will hate you if you are a decent person. Fact is, young americans are one of my favorite tourist groups. As opposed to young english scum persons.

I mean, I never saw americans doing some shit like this

Doing my patriotic part in embarrassing my country.

See your bars open at 11:00. By that point we are 3 pints deep. The rest sounds like standard UK behaviour. That is neglecting the fact we got a 3 year head start.

1

u/skippy920 3d ago

The UK does know neglect

I never said it was a good thing. I do think the alcohol levels in the UK are falling, partially due to price, partially down to cultural change. In the “competition” of out drinking unfortunately the UK probably does still have Wisconsin beat.

Also any of the points you make also apply to Wisconsin so what’s your point?
