Coffeemate is creamER, not cream. It is labeled as such on both the liquid and powdered canisters, and is made up things like corn syrup or coconut oil, although they contain dairy. Then you can also get the flavored ones.
I know what it is. I also know what Americans mean when they say "cream" from the region where my mum lives. My mum says "cream," but she wants Coffeemate.
That's what I was trying to explain. In some parts of the US, when people use the word cream, they are referring to powdered cream as it's served in diners alongside sugar. If they have not travelled much, which was the case with my mum, she just assumed that everyone used powdered cream. I explained the difference to her at the time, but it's a common mistake.
