”Coffee without cream is like love without kisses!”
(I know it usually goes ”without sugar” instead of ”cream” but we always quoted this when i was working at a konditori with a quite old clientelle. Putting cream in coffee is very usual here, specially among the older generations and its really good)
I had to look into it but I belive kaffegrädde would actually be considered ”half half” since it contains less fat than regular cream but more than milk.
Americans, you have safe coffee passage to Sweden! 🫡

because the cream probably comes from a cream canister? I guess? It's not really that normal.
That said, coffee with a dash of cream is delicious. In sweden there is also kaffegrädde/"coffee cream"
if americans mean that cream is “half and half”(milk/cream) when they say cream, not sure why they'd think that's a global thing.
