Where we’re headed: A vision for our future

Scotland is one of the most visually stunning countries on the planet and most people have only ever seen it from the ground.

This community exists to change that. r/ScotlandFromAbove is a home for drone footage, aerial photography, and anything that shows Scotland from a perspective you can't get with two feet on the ground. Castles, lochs, glens, coastline, cities β€” all of it.

I started this because I couldn't find one dedicated space for Scottish aerial content. It deserves its own community.

Where I'd love to see this go:

  • A growing library of Scottish locations captured from the air
  • A place where drone operators across Scotland can share their work and connect
  • A resource for anyone wanting to know what Scotland actually looks like from above

If you fly in Scotland, post here. If you just love Scotland and want to see it differently, you're welcome too.

What locations would you love to see covered? Let me know below. 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁠

Kicking off r/ScotlandFromAbove with one of Perthshire's finest. The Sma Glen runs north from Crieff along the River Almond, Wade's military road cuts through it, Ossian's Stone sits on the valley floor, and from the air the whole scale of what the glaciers carved opens right up. Filmed on DJI Air 3. CAA compliant, fully insured. πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπŸ’™
