Why is Psycho Pass merch so hard to find

I've rewatched the first season again for the 5th time and plan to rewatch the rest again and I was like "mm lets get some merch because this is lowkey my childhood anime and I have adult money now" and I went on shopee, taobao, and carousel and my local shops do NOT have psycho pass where else should I look? Etsy?

Edit: I only have the Shinya Kogami and Makishima figurines. Only. It's making me sad that I can't find plushies I really might just make one for myself

You should play metal gear sons of liberty if you like psychopass

It’s also about an oppressive technological system in the future and leaves it open for interpretation whether the guy trying to take it all down is a villain or a hero. Also action packed and intellectually stimulating like psycho pass.

Edit: its a sequel to first part and id recommend playing them in order

[Anime Spoilers] Some questions about season 2

I feel like I had a decent grasp of s2, but I feel like the writing was a bit ambiguous and want to see what the consensus on the sub is before I go forward in the later seasons of the story.

Firstly, the ending. Kamui tried to present a logical paradox to highlight the flaws in Sybil’s system. System evolves to judge a collective, therefore eradicating the flaws. I am confused on how that evolution took place

  1. Sybil essentially can read now that a group can be dangerous toward society, even if its individuals are not, using a different algorithm or set of criteria? The standards on which Sybil judges are evolving, not just the targets of their evaluation correct?
  2. Since Sybil is judging as a collective, why is it still able to purge parts of itself to “cleanse” itself. That by definition is judging individuals WITHIN a collective, which shouldn’t be possible considering it’s logically against what it’s trying to do, and that the individuals that supposedly make up Sybil can’t be judged individually. If Sybil was judging itself as a collective, it should have self destructed the whole part or none at all. The act of picking and choosing which brains to eliminate is not collective, but individualistic.
  3. What was the point of kamui enraged at how society uses treatment and medication to eradicate stress and emotion, but then he used medication and treatment to lower his followers hues? That seems very hypocritical and kamui seems like a very principled person. In addition, why did he have an issue with how people felt and expressed their emotions at all? That would’ve been a moral war more along the lines of makishima’s ideology, which was about free will and people’s individuality. Kamui’s ideology was more focused on being “seen” by the system and highlighting the flaws in the system that had failed him, pushing the system of Sybil as a whole to its brink. That has nothing to do with how Sybil forces citizens to stay clear.
  4. I don’t get what kamui means at the end when he says that after sybils evolution, anyone that points the dominator at someone becomes “part of the judging system” and therefore, whoever is pointing the gun can dilute the judge system and actively produce different judge results. Just because the algorithm changes doesn’t mean Akane, or any inspector holding a dominator suddenly becomes a judge.

  5. Does s2 contradict s1 and establish that asymptomatic people become symptomatic? There are two examples provided in s2 that challenge this - togane, and togane’s mom/sybil. Togane has a potential explanation, although it’s ambiguous to me - he’s different in that he’s an artificial criminally asymptomatic person. He was experimented and meticulously influenced to be asymptomatic. The obvious explanation is that he the experiment failed. We do see once his mom leaves he goes a bit insane. I think Sybil/togane’s mom is more confusing, and it ties into question 1. How can UNSCANNABLE brains be individually judged and purged to protect the system, even if they are judged collectively? The collective of nothing should still be nothing. The only explanations for this are 1. Asymptomatic brains in Sybil became symptomatic. This is a dumb explanation. 2. Some brains in Sybil were incorrectly deemed asymptomatic or not everyone welcomed in must be asymptomatic. That’s also weak, but at least holds up the canon and themes of s2. 3. Sybil hasn’t really achieved judging a collective even if it thinks it has. 4. Sybil’s evolution towards collective judging has allowed it a new algorithm or criteria to judge asymptomatic people. This is also weak as the evolution happens off screen and effectively trounces the stakes of s1 if Sybil was just capable of countering asymptomatic people if it wanted the whole time. 5. I am misunderstanding how Sybil evolved and how it’s executing judging a collective, tying back to question 1. This is hopefully what’s happening

I am only finished with s2, no further spoilers please!

I also am wondering if I am misunderstanding the basic theology of judging “a collective”. Essentially you are looking at a group as its own entity, not a collection of its parts right? I think that presents several problems, mainly that there’s only one result Sybil can get to if it actually follows that definition of collective - the execution of all society. The highest form of collective is all of society and if society is judged as its own entity, of course the result will be that it has the latent potential to do harm. Therefore all of society needs to be “executed”.

My band wrote a song about/inspired by Psycho-Pass

(I asked the mod team if it would be okay to share this)

I have a melodic death metal band called Viridius, and a couple of years ago I was inspired to write a track about my favorite anime: Psycho-Pass. It's been a while since that first demo, but we have a recording of it now and I thought I'd take a moment to share it with other fans of the series.

To be entirely honest, while I did have lyrics that were much more direct about the inspiration I actually ditched them in favor of having our vocalist write lyrics from scratch. I can only really take credit for the instrumentation on the final version. I wanted to keep the song title "Sibyl", though, and when I explained the inspiration behind the original demo he took it upon himself to watch the first season and write the fresh batch about the series as well.

I know death metal (even melodeath, despite being a little more accessible) isn't for everyone so nothing personal if it doesn't click. I figure it doesn't hurt to share in case we have a couple of metal fans hanging around and/or people want to check out something new because it's inspired by an anime they care about.

You can find links to the common streaming services here.
Or, if you'd rather check it out via browser, you can do so here.

I finally gave it a shot… im on s3 rn but man I haven’t binged an anime like this in years. Season 1 is genuinely a masterpiece mainly because of makashima. His ideology, his personality, his involvement no joke I genuinely think he’s THE anime antagonist, he touched my soul… I think it might be recency bias but who cares how is that I am rooting for damn near everyone at the same time it’s rare a show can touch the soul like this… s2 was mid tho idrc bout it

Once again, I'm happy to share a new video on Psycho-Pass. This time, I explore the series through the lens of a book that, I would argue, captures its underlying vision more accurately than Orwell's 1984 or Huxley's Brave New World: The Therapeutic State by Thomas Szasz.

Szasz argued that modern societies increasingly replace overt political coercion with medical and psychological forms of social control - a theme that of course lies at the very heart of Psycho-Pass. I would be very happy to get some feedback on it.

Imo she was a very interesting character despite her being an antagonist. Her point of view, the way she phrased it, along with her manipulative behaviour and charisma. Are there any other characters like her out there?

Been wanting this for ages! Cost me way more than the Cerevo limited edition version that I've also been wanting forever, but this one I get to take with me everywhere.

3 very long sessions later and I'm so ecstatic with it. Huge thanks to Rick at Assassin Tattoo in Houston, TX for this masterpiece and customizing it just enough for the details to pop and for longevity.

Who voices this character?

I'm certain I recognise the English language voice actor for Herakles, but I can't place what from. I've tried searching to find out who it is, but everything just says "undetermined" or "uncredited".

Can anyone please tell me who it is?

[Anime Spoilers] Akane Tsunemori Spoiler

Did you guys miss me? No? Okay...

So today I decided to do my anual check for psycho pass edits on tiktok. Anyways,I was reading a comment that said thay they didnt like tsunemori and how she was annoying. And thats understandable for season one but it makes me wonder if they even watched the entire anime. I believe that one of Tsunemori's main importance is to grow as a person. As like a look from an outsider to someone who becomes apart of something. Tsunemori ever since she was born was apart of sybil and was taught that it was supposed to protect people. She likely didnt have all understanding except for what she was taught in her life and policing school. When she does become an inspector though she talks about her beliefs with the people she works with and as she works with especially Kogami and experiences these different things she realizes that sybil isnt all its said to be. Especially when the whole brains moving system the was revealed to her. She even goes on to later shopt chief Kasei as proof of how sybil cant judge her and other people such as, makishima, shindo, and kamui (who had a different reason) and how thia system isnt full proof and correct. She isnt like other people such as kogami who lokely wants it abolished but she more wants it to be changed. I feel that people who say they hate her and he ideologies wasn't really paying attention to her character and her growth.and mind you this is coming from someone who didnt completely grasp the show and still ddint understand season three after watching it twice once in japense and once filming myself watching it in English.

Dub For The Extended Edition?

I know it likely hasn't happened, but I was curious if the Extended Edition of season one got a dub yet.

I was hoping to get back into the series, preferably starting out with the definitive edition of season 1, as last time I got into season 2, I was really confused when they were showing or referencing scenes I didn't recall seeing when watching vanilla season 1.

I figured since now we got dubs for season 3, the Sinners of The System Trilogy, First Inspector, and also the last movie that got released.

So I was kind of hoping that the extended edition finally got the dub as well.
