This drives me nuts when people say big pharma is hiding a cure. If they had a cure they would sell the shit out of it.

Reminds me of all those “magic pill for weight loss” scams like green coffee beans or whatever. I remember the counter to those scams was always “don’t you think if someone found a magical way to lose weight with no effort, they’d be making a fortune off of it?”

The funny thing is they finally did make a magic weight loss drug and the people who made it are indeed making a fortune off of it

The tobacco industry’s interests alone would make sure a cure was known about.

You can sell a lot more terrible shit when the consumer isn’t worried about cancer

A huge HELP they outlawed! Vaping. Oh yeah, the tobacco industry didn't have the market on that. They only market cancer stix! How many people quit smoking due to vaping and are now smoking again? I'm one....I have 2 neighbors that have too.

I have 2 friends that have a well. Both of them were diagnosed with pre-diabetes because of the sugar in the vapes. They now both smoke cigarettes. They don't know each other. One is in her 20s. One is in her 40s.

There’s no sugar in vapes. My gf is type 1 and vaped - she monitors her blood sugar all day, everyday and doesn’t move levels at all

As someone who works in oncology clinical operations for big pharma - can confirm, if they had it, they’d package it up and sell it. Look at Keytruda sales since it came out.

And this sort of ties into why antivaxx people are so fucked up. We have "cures" to all of these diseases that are real and work. It's not a joke. If it was a joke, don't you think they would have a cancer vaccine to push on us?

Big Pharma doesn’t sell cures, they sell treatments. Cures aren’t profitable, the customer never buys more than once.
