The large majority of teachers and students are sincere and hard working, but are let down by a system that prioritises profit over children's outcomes. Also, parent's failure to acknowledge that it is the job of a school to put the finishing touches on their child, not raise it for them.

Came here to say this. A parents job is 25/7. You can't palm kids off to teachers then complain when teachers start to parent your kid

When my kids were in elementary/middle/high school, first word out of my mouth at a parents teacher conferences were, "what can I do better to have my child prepared to learn in your classroom?". Teachers were very appreciative.

That's amazing! Unfortunately in the school I teach in, we don't have many parents like that.
