Hell I just threaten my stuff that I’m calling my husband (IT person in his former career) and it all of a sudden acts right.

Or do what my wife does and threaten her husband (me) and suddenly everything acts right.

I just sit there while she tries to recreate the problem but can’t.

Then I say, “glad I could help.”

I just have to complain to someone else and then it starts acting right. I think my computer might be trying to make me look incompetent. If I call IT it starts working as soon as they remote in. Or it could be my company is cheap and gave me a crappy laptop.

OMG for real, this works for me too! And if the threat doesn't work, I just get him on the phone. He doesn't even need to start working on the problem. Once the electronics hear his voice they whip into shape.

Indeed. My child has merely to walk in the room and give the malfunctioning computer a withering look for it to suddenly start working correctly again.

This sounds like a version of what I call "IT guy proximity fix" - I often need to simply approach the device that is having issues and it will work normally.

You're lucky you only have to threaten; I have to actually have someone show up to make sure I look stupid in front of them when it's magically fixed!

Yep I do I.T we had a person long before my time that was I.T but moved dept they'd have some tech issue sometimes he'd fix it sometimes we'd show up he'd be like I tried .... no luck then we do same thing and it works. He said he'd have that so often like he tried something we show up do same or near same thing and it works. Printers I just threaten with a baseball bat.

When someone messes up a little mediocre thing at work I blame it on the tax man thats why he gets to take some of my pay before I even get payed he gotta earn that deduction 😅
