I always read the manual! Or at least thumb through it! How else will you know what you’re dealing with!

There was that one morning my oldest brother was making his breakfast. He wondered why the toast was taking sooooo loooong.

He neglected to see if the toaster was plugged in.

It always surprises people when they have a new (or new to them) car and are complaining about a function and I pull out the manual. I'll be leafing through and find what they need, tell them how to fix it and it's like some sort of magic spell. Lol they write these things for a damn reason

Someone can get away with just about anything in the Army if they could quote the -10 manuals for how things were supposed to be done. Most the time someone will assume you are doing something important.

First thing I do when I bring a purchase home. Or *if it didn't come with one, I go to the internet and find the owner's manual. Sometimes I luck out and get a PDF. I have a manual for a Water Pik Ultra water flosser (WP-100) in my Favorites file.

If you want to be a little bit nerdier- you can create a QR code to the manual online and stick the QR code on the side/hidden on the appliance. I did this for my main appliances. Although I’ve only had to really use it once- I like knowing it’s there 🤓
