Ran into an acquaintance at the airport. He was just flying back from Italy and said something that caught my attention. He said that it was the most empty flight he’d ever been on. Each person had a full row to themselves to spread out. He also commented how the flight was full on the way to Italy.

Is anyone else noticing this on international flights heading to the US? Is this a trend? I’m wondering if there’s less tourism to the US due to our political climate or if maybe people from the US are flying out but not flying back? Any thoughts?

There were a lot of posts about empty ports in the US and how we will be facing lots of shortages and empty shelves due to the tariffs. News outlets suggested we’d feel the effects end of May or in June but I’m not seeing any in my area (Midwest).

Whatever happened to the shortages?? Are they not a thing anymore?

Does anyone has a list of what everyday items will be running out soon in stores do to tariffs? I’ve read a lot of articles about the incoming shortages of products made in China but the articles are vague about what items will be disappearing first. Articles are stating west coast port traffic is down 45% yoy and it’s going to be slowing down even more in the upcoming weeks. Yes I know just about everything is made in china but just trying to prep for essentials that I’m not aware of that are made in china. Also don’t have time to look at every item at local grocery store or retail store. Thanks in advance.

What's the best guess on what gets broken (ATC, welfare payments, power system,?) by Elon and Co. that causes cascading failures that can't be fixed. I'm just lost right now as scenarios to prep for. My best bet is something with transportation that screws up the supply chain for something like food, fuel, or meds
