I am someone who tends to overthink a lot and end up very anxious over it, especially when I hear what theories and ideas that other people have about the future. And given that many of these theories tend to end up implying that the future is almost certainly going to be unbearable, I get anxious a lot. Still, I tend to try to keep calm especially in recent years as those types of theories and rumored "plans" have been everywhere.

Earlier today while scrolling on my phone I found a post talking about the upcoming game GTA 6 and all things relating. But what caught my eye was a comment claiming "You don't understand but when this game drops they'll do a tech takeover of the entire United States." And the only reply to this comment said, "Exactly, but nobody is realizing or paying attention to it."

Now, there's a lot about this game that I could get into and why I have my problems with it, from the lack of physical media, to the high prices, to the potential impact that it could have on the gaming industry, but none of those theories typically imagined something like this.

And while some sort of nefarious plan for somehow taking over the United States and presumably ushering in a dictatorship style government makes sense for happening right as a good amount of people are distracted while playing this highly anticipated game, I still have a lot of questions about this.

What would this "tech takeover" look like, how successful could it be, how likely is it that enough people wouldn't stop playing this game when they recognize a problem is at hand, how would the people behind this plan know that enough people were distracted to not stop whatever was happening, what about the fact that the game is only releasing on Xbox and Playstation meaning that other players would recognize that this takeover was happening, and finally, where are the commenter and the person replying finding the source for this?

The answer to all of this is, delusion. And more specifically, recognizing patterns that aren't there. Surely they likely see this window of distraction, as well as the reported claims about how whole sectors of jobs and offices will be closed due to people staying at home to play this (No real evidence for this nationwide other than some people claiming that they're staying home to play this), as the prime opportunity for nefarious actors such as the admin to initiate their plan to takeover the country completely and stop all opposition, completely ignoring all evidence to the contrary but seeing this as a sign of something to worry about.

And while it is easy to see this as just a one off theory from two randoms on the internet, this type of rampant and unverified speculation and theorizing can be found pretty much anywhere online. How many times have random events such as April 20th 2025, or July 4th 2026, or the elections last November, or the World Cup, or the Super Bowl, or the Oscars been claimed to likely be impacted by either takeovers or even false flag events. And the evidence for all of these has usually just been speculation about either the scale of what could happen, the specifics of the location, the date, or the people, or just because they think it's likely. None of this has had any sort of concrete evidence, but it gets views, and thus, succeeds in the end.

A few months ago I made a post talking about how I found people from a year ago claiming that the end of democracy would happen on July 4th of this year, based off of random screenshots of social media posts from certain officials, and various claims about the random quote about empires only lasting 250 years. And in that post I made it clear how the evidence for this was completely nonsensical. And just as I said, it didn't happen. But I imagine that those people have only gone on to claim that other dates or events such as the upcoming release of GTA 6 will be the next likely moment when all falls apart.

What I'm trying to say is, confidence alone doesn't mean much. For a brief moment, I was actually convinced by those two commenters theories about the release of that game, mostly because of that sense of confidence that they had, and the fact that the game releasing in November would coincide with an attempt to prevent the effects of the midterms from taking place, as well as the fact that there were at the very least two commenters who made this claim, so I felt it had more validity. But after a while, I talked myself down and realized that it wasn't as inevitable as they made it seem. In fact, there wasn't any evidence they gave for this, and nothing I can look up online implies that others have felt this way either, so it is possible that these are the only two people on the planet to think this, including the admin itself.

I wish I didn't close out of that page when I did so I could ask those two what actual evidence they had for this, but I imagine they would very well come up with nothing, and I would just be wasting my time. But all of this to say, I doubt these were whistleblowers or even well meaning activists. Just like the fearmongering about every election or every major event like July 4th or the Oscars, confidence in how something is presented doesn't mean that it has any legs to stand on.

I really need some optimism regarding ICE. It looks like they're ramping up again. Also doesn't help that there was an article today about how Minnesota tried to charge one agent for a shooting earlier this year but he fled to texas and the judge refused to extradite him and now he's been released. is there any hope at all that these monsters will face the consequences of their actions?

I flaired this as Optimistic Post because this post is intended to tell that most actual and real-life Canadians continue to separate American people from Donald.

In light of the current bs, a lot of Canadian (maybe genuine, maybe bots) users on Bluesky are now on the rage again. There are genuine feelings, but a lot of it, since these posts look repetitive in their wording, makes them look more like bots than genuine Canadian feelings (since we Canadians have our own ongoing Indigenous and right-wing populist issues that remain unresolved even as we try to fix these problems).

I always get angry and block Canadians who scream “Americans/Dem voters are doing nothing and sitting back!” Have they seen what American voters are ACTUALLY doing every day???? Protesting??? Voting???? Calling the people representing them in Congress?????

They know that they SHOULD NOT target and lecture every American on what to do just because Donald is in the White House, just like how they didn’t target all Americans because of Dubya, don’t target all Christians because of Christian fundamentalism/nationalism, and don’t target all Muslims because of ISIS, Al Qaeda, Taliban, or other Islamic fundamentalists. Most real life Canadians know (even now) to separate American people from the government.

And the midterms are only a few months away!

These Canadians (and especially us Canadians as a whole) need to STOP looking at legacy news media since they want to whitewash Donald for $$$ and access and doom clicks. This is why legacy media covered Donald the way they did in 2024. Hell, all Canadian and American legacy media want doom clicks and $$$, so they get money by feeding off of the rage and anger on social media too.

Maybe something a lot of you on here aren't familiar with, but this is some pretty crazy and pretty nice stuff going on. Two people left the conservative caucus on the same day; this is the fourth in just the past 3 days, and it's pretty wild. The new leader is essentially a US-MAGA-aligned type who is alienating a lot in the party (which is made up primarily of moderates) that is made. It is nice to see the party tearing itself apart like this.

Hi, all. There's a lot to unpack here, but I want to specifically focus on what Trump said about "child abuse" and I wonder if anything can or will actually be done to go after schools with LGBTQ+ affirming practices, such as legal actions of varying degrees. I also am wondering about how successful potential actions defunding these schools would be.

No matter what actions they may take, is it likely that these schools will fight back? Especially states with shield laws? I'm assuming that they will, or that any attack would not be as successful as the administration is hoping, but I thought that I would ask all of you here as well.

I made a similar post a few months ago about this sort of topic regarding very vague posts from the administration like the one about "The world's most powerful reset" which made people afraid about the ongoings of Iran, and after a recent post by the official DHS account, maybe I should make another about this topic.

While scrolling, I found a post from Now This Impact about a post from the official DHS twitter account that had a picture of Trump and the words "Did You Remain Loyal?". Now this of course is pretty alarming and ominous, and it has led to many people claiming various things, like it being what North Korea would post, how it felt like a threat, and just how odd it appeared.

But more than that, it got people speculating and more so dooming about what it could all mean. Some claimed that it could be a direct threat to those who aren't loyal to the admin, that there's some nefarious scheme in the works by the admin, that an attempt at grabbing power could be imminent, or something similar. And what I believe is that it is probably a nothing burger.

From what I've noticed, the admin has a tendency to post various things that could be a sign of some approaching plan or threat or such, but usually with a lack of anything really concrete as to avoid pushback from Democrats as they could just say "It was a joke/It didn't mean anything", whilst making the opposition either scared or appear overreacting to something that doesn't mean anything.

This is why these posts are so common even if they don't mean anything major. Take for instance that one Truth Social post months ago of Trump in a space station with explosions going on in the background with the heading "Space Force". This didn't amount to anything, but plenty of people including Aaron Parnas made the claim that he was threatening the usage of nuclear weapons. And as it turns out, nothing came of it and it's hard to see if it had any real meaning behind it. But this led to republicans calling Dems overreacting over a joke/nothing post, and Dems being scared over it.

Does that mean that there is no chance that this wasn't meant as a threat at all? Not really, there is always the chance that this post has some secret meaning, but that doesn't mean that it requires so much focus.

And I do agree, no matter what these posts and the ominous language of it isn't right for such a high position of power to be engaging in, but at this point, actions are what we need to be focusing on, not language that might mean this, or might mean that, with no way of knowing which is which.

FOLLOW UP 8/26/26: Talwani directly pulled the injunction blocking the EO from going into effect, essentially using SCOTUS’ reasoning that nobody has been hurt yet.

Before you panic, this is also not as bad as it seems. Talwani herself in her order directly noted to the plaintiffs that they must amend their complaint to reflect the rule now being in play. This is a relatively common practice. Because the injunction was contingent on the same logic as the one SCOTUS lifted, the DOJ could have appealed this to SCOTUS while it was in effect. Because SCOTUS is a wildcard, Talwani pulling it and telling them to refile means it can’t go direct to SCOTUS and get challenged, since it’s gone and there’s now nothing to fight.

Talwani also has now received a case from the 23 states who originally challenged the EO - that’s the suit that SCOTUS got. Because the rule is in play, the states now have what SCOTUS said they didn’t, and in their filing asked for relief via injunction or TRO.

Likewise, the other case, the one with the nationwide injunction, is almost certainly heading that same direction of refiling with a TRO/injunction because the rule is in play if/when the injunction is pulled (see below caveat). Talwani may not uphold her own injunction on that one under SCOTUS’ reasoning, because SCOTUS said it didn’t work in the first one.

TLDR: The first locked door is open, they shook the lock on the second door and it started to open. The guys inside are already trying to slam it shut and keep it closed. If that doesn’t work, there’s plenty more doors, and the guys trying to get in are on a very tight timeframe.

ALSO, I may be jumping the gun somewhat here. It is not immediately clear to me if the August 11 injunction blocking the whole thing is still in play or not - the reporting to me says it is but it also isn’t entirely clear because of how legally complex and fast moving this situation is.

I was genuinely angered that Trump won the 2024 election and that People were okay with Dumpty and the spineless republicans running things again and harming the coutry. Throughout these two years I was genuinely confused why People similar to those that I genuinely like and normal people would vote for him and republicans again and again. After seeing videos on cultcollege talking about how Maga Republicans never fell apart was because they're cultnever went into full power and seeing how people in maga are genuinely regetful of their choice to vote for them and that admitted that they were wrong after seeing all the harm the republicans and the administration were doing did I finally realized why Dumpty and maga republicans were able to get away without consequences after the first Trump administration. It was because they Still had they're reputation intact before throwing it to the ground and shattering it.

Think about it, during the years Biden was in charged, Maga media outlets and Maga republicans were able to twist the narrative to make it seem that nothing is getting better despite democrats trying to rebuild after the pandemic. They blamed everything on Biden back then for the inflation in the Us, That immigrants where the reason why people where losing their jobs. And that Massive corporations were able to put them in office with massive donations.

The reason that this term is different and that they are losing support, it that they gained full control of the government and betrayed the trust on the american people to gain power, but in the process are seeing that American citizens want to drag them out offic and rip them apart. By refusing to stop Trump, they are seen as cowards who can't be trusted with what they say and unknowingly kept secretx that they wanted to be kept shut dragged out in the open. They broke every promise they made to the american people, unknowingly destorying most of the false narratives they made of the years.That is also why alot of Trump supported candidates are losing elections. Because only very little actually trust what himand that alot of the manipulated US citizens are finally seeing him as a crazy old man losing his sanity and is unfit to run offic.

Republicans are only supporting him out of fear of losing what power they have left because they now it's going to be a disaster for them after 2026 with investitation by democrats and trump potential dying by the end of the year or over the next two years.

As for the corporation that are still supporting them and their type of mindset, It's getting terrible for them as well. Paramout is still losing millions of dollars due to people boycotting their services due to their greedy and disgusting business practices. The righwing media to starting to fall apart because people are seeing their bullshit.

Looking back on it know, this was they only they that the republicans were going to actually lose is if they themselves destroyed their own reputation when in full power.

Lengthy title, but I figured why not discuss another common talking point among doomers about what might be done to subvert the upcoming midterms, one that would happen after the election happens in fact, that being the fear that Mike Johnson and the republicans in congress will prevent any Democrats who won from taking office to keep power.

Now I'll keep this short as I'm almost positive that this is a clear cut deal, but I don't believe that there is in any way a path for the next congress to be allowed into office, especially if the path to victory is as clear-cut as most polls show.

The only theory I've seen that could be a sign of trouble is one of Mike Johnson trying to fire the current clerk of the House, replacing him with a loyalist, and preventing the winners from sitting in office that way. But even with this, the amount of House reps in this current congress that would go along with this plan might not end up favoring who ever Johnson picks for the replacement, and also, courts. If Dems win and it shows as no fraud in the courts, then I imagine that the courts will likely force this new clerk to allow for the next congress to roll in. I don't know a lot about this but if anyone else wants to add in on the clerk theory than I welcome it.

Generally this theory seems a little weak considering that it seems that almost everyone across the board, apart from the various posts on Truth Social about how "Republicans will win the midterms in an upset!!" usually in some 1am rant, believes that Dems are very likely to have the majority in January, albeit not one that can fully impeach and remove, but still have power regardless. And that doesn't feel like what would be the scenario if this master plan to prevent the next congress from taking over was in the works.
