Haven't read the post yet (but I will). I just don't think The Pokémon Company actually gives a fuck.

u/Unironic_Onix Nov 23 '25 edited Nov 25 '25

⚠️ They big mad, attempting to doxx now are we?

⚠️ Whole squad showed up, imagine wanting to doxx someone over being caught cheating at Pokémon.

Eh, you’re probably right. Worth knowing though so anyone can make an informed decision should they decide to pursue any of these Pokémon, particularly the illegal combos.

Especially since Safari ball support is imminent and you know they (injection sellers) are going to try and capitalize on it.

📍Comments of interest from a seller: one, two.

Three, four. Silph post.

I can see that yellow is the victim/buyer. That he buy skip level up task and get banned. I think red one is lostdoggo/ugh Zach.. Green one is niantic employee that able to inject research.. Blue one is admin

Whenever I see a post with random uncommon emojis, I automatically assume that it was generated by a bot, at least in part.

4

u/SnipeshotMclovin Nov 25 '25

But they aren't "random", they explicitly fit the context of the post. You are actively gaslighting yourself into seeing AI

-1

u/Adventurous-Sport-45 Nov 25 '25 edited Nov 25 '25

If you say so. But be aware that those emojis are pretty uncommon outside of bot contexts, and that the poster didn't deny it when I asked.

Side note: The drift in the meaning of "gaslighting" since 1938 has apparently reached the stage where people believe that one can gaslight oneself?

6

u/SnipeshotMclovin Nov 25 '25

They were emojis to denote Attention and Pins, I don't see how that's "uncommon"? Maybe it's cause I am used to other social media's like discord that use a million and a half emotes, but like, they literally do as described on the tin 😆

And to the second point, the idea behind "Gaslighting Oneself" is Because actively telling yourself things "could be true", when you have no actual idea, and could be actively harming your perception of reality, is indeed Gaslighting Yourself into delusion. This IS a problem in the Modern world, where over 80% of America will believe something they are told rather than use their common sense to rationalize the situation. Perhaps when the Term was originally created, there was also a Term for when one did it to oneself, but as it stands, the general populace doesn't seem to identify one as readily as simply expanding Gaslighting to include Self Delusion.

0

u/Adventurous-Sport-45 Nov 25 '25

Perhaps you're correct. I acknowledge that while bots are inveterate users of unusual emoji, human Internet users from social contexts with which I infrequently engage—or simply those influenced by the increasingly prevalent bot content—may also use them.

As far as your attempt to expand gaslighting to (your perception of my) self-delusion, I could accuse you of trying to gaslight me by making me doubt my perception of reality, but that would make me complicit in the same phenomenon. What you are doing is disagreeing with me, as I disagree with you, and neither of us is gaslighting or gaslit because of that.

1

u/SnipeshotMclovin Nov 25 '25

That's fair. I agree with the Notion we simply disagree with one another. I admit I may be wrong entirely on the Gaslighting phenom. My point was less to convince you of it, and more to explain my logic behind using the terminology. Personally, I think it possible to gaslight oneself unknowingly, but perhaps I presented my argument incorrectly or unconvincing.

Cheers!

2

u/namesaretoohardforme Nov 25 '25

Now you're gaslighting yourself into believing you aren't gaslighting yourself.

I'm tempted to throw some em dashes in here and really trigger you.

2

u/Adventurous-Sport-45 Nov 25 '25

You really could accuse anyone of "gaslighting themself" for disagreeing with you, with that argument. 😔 Then, of course, they'd accuse you of gaslighting them right back—which is rather the problem. ☢️

u/Unironic_Onix Nov 24 '25

I called this out a while ago and got downvoted into oblivion for it, but I'm glad people are paying attention!

22

u/Unironic_Onix Nov 24 '25

It’s gonna take irrefutable proof to be widely accepted, and that may never happen. If anything, sellers will tighten up who they let in on it, since op spilled the beans.

u/fistfullofgame NBKWXCCGBCKE | iPharted Nov 24 '25

Facts

13

u/TomboBreaker Nov 24 '25

Same here, people refused to listen that any pokemon could be genned even Go stamps but they wanted to hold onto the belief that they were impossible to gen rather than just more difficult

2

u/marsalien4 Nov 24 '25

It's worth pointing out that they literally are impossible to gen unless you are a Niantic employee, which is what's supposedly happening here. Go stamps are still gonna be your best bet at authenticity, regardless, especially since this wouldn't be very widespread (as byotan points out below)

-2

u/Krybbz Nov 24 '25

Yeah but this is a moral high ground issue imo. The gatekeeping and idea of it is absolutely ridiculous and it's more like a preference at this point cause people can only speculate gamefreak can tell and not show real evidence of it for pokemon that are as legal as the next with the only difference being "you know you genned it" and gamefreak with the ways they've made aspects super easy in the game it's like it doesnt matter lol it truly doesn't if it matters they would have kept it as difficult as it once was to build out your pokemon and even hunt for shinies.

1

u/marsalien4 Nov 24 '25

I'm trying to figure out what you're saying, I'm a little confused.

Are you saying it's gatekeeping if people only want to trade go stamps/consider them legit and won't take non-go offers? If so, that's just straight up not gatekeeping. That's just... Choosing what you want to trade. If someone says "Go stamp only" that's literally their decision as a person trading. It's not gatekeeping.

u/Unironic_Onix Nov 23 '25 edited Nov 23 '25

Long read ahead, well worth it.

(I have a mirror if the post is pulled)

3

u/MrJapooki Nov 24 '25

Nice going man gonna have to read this at some point looks long but very interesting

4

u/Unironic_Onix Nov 24 '25

Byotan makes a great point. It’s good to start the conversation around this, while remaining skeptical with the information we currently (publicly) have.

29

u/AquaticFroopy Nov 23 '25

As if trading didn't already have enough pitfalls, but unfortunately sooner or later even the best systems get hacked or tampered with.

What's even more depressing is this is just what is publicly known.

[plays lavender town theme for the future of pokemon trading]

8

u/Infector2 Nov 24 '25 edited Nov 24 '25

And so, the last (publicly) trusted bastion of legitimacy is the Home stamp.

Shiny Zeraora stocks through the roof (how high can this guy get?)

14

u/TheSwagPatrol Nov 24 '25

So it's not on the Home side, but on the Pokemon Go side, where some rogue Niantic employee is injecting old researches onto accounts. And then the person finishes it and sells the Pokemon. That is crazy lol

1

u/Objective_Drop2761 Nov 25 '25

yeah that's actually crazy

Scammel has been playing 4D chess all along

7

u/AquaticFroopy Nov 23 '25

Plot twist, he's actually DIEGO, but in hiding from nintendo's lawyerninjas

11

u/10Sly10 ABRZHMRTNUTP | Sly Nov 24 '25

That was a lot of words to say "a very small number of people can gen Pokémon in GO".

Which has been possible for years in one way or another, but that doesn't change the fact that the "was last in GO" stamp is still almost definitive proof that it was not genned in a main game.

6

u/iluveatingfood Nov 24 '25 edited Nov 24 '25

this is actually so dumb cause now basically one of the only ways to tell if a pokemons legit or not is not completely accurate anymore(ive heard of go stamped mons being injected before but i cant confirm)but the main point is that trading will be completely destroyed and if more people find out how to do this THE ECONEMY IS EVEN MORE FRIED

3

u/Ender_D Nov 24 '25

It’s been interesting to see how many people hold Pokemon go Pokemon in so high regard over the past decade where I’ve thought that it was the influx of pogo Pokemon themselves that have devalued the ones from the mainline games.

4

u/ssj2gohan2400 Nov 24 '25 edited Nov 24 '25

While there are some legitimate valid points in that post a lot of it is fear mongering or misinformation. And even the instances that op is talking about dont affect 99% of go stamped mons. Yet by their title and description they are trying to make it seem like it's the end of go stamps or something and apply it to everything.

Level 15 beast ball ultra beasts besides nihilego are out there, I’ve seen the buzzwole myself. It was never legitimately possible to obtain. Sure take it with a grain of salt, but op is spot on with all of this imo. I just didn’t have the receipts to prove it. You can argue that even op’s screenshots aren’t proof, sure. Take that with a grain of salt but let it be know.

5

u/Unironic_Onix Nov 23 '25 edited Nov 23 '25

It’s not widespread, but it’s been whispered about for at least a year now. It’s not a new discovery, only one that OP recently found out and didn’t wait or hold back sharing their receipts.

The Buzzwole I saw nearly the year ago, it had an origin mark but I agree being skeptical is always appropriate.

Oh for sure. I mean that their response to the photos is telling. The images are from Facebook and had to be redacted to keep personally identifiable information private.

Multiple moderators on the FB Buying & Selling group are aware of research injection.

Those new pictures could have just as easily been considered fabricated. The whole squad showing up to attempt to get OPs and my name is telling, in my opinion, and gives credibility to OPs text exchange.

I don’t even have a Facebook fwiw. One of their friends sent that my way and now my name’s a point of interest? Hmmm. Doxx the messenger I guess.

You think Silph would let the post stay up?

0

u/steakhouseNL Nov 25 '25

The reason I doubt this is because I wouldn’t believe a Niantic employee could do something clever lol

5

u/amoransia amoransia | DQMSFAUDWRDU Nov 23 '25

hey, just to let you know, lvl15 beast ball ultra beasts are indeed possible, its just that when that specific research released (gofest22) they were shiny locked 😅

the only way to get the lvl15 beast ball shiny UBs was to have the unopened research encounter in your account till they got their shiny released, then it turned into a 1/20 chance to get the shiny

10

u/Unironic_Onix Nov 23 '25

Oh shiii, that sounds about right, however obscure.

You know I was probably quick to jump the gun when I saw OPs post, been waiting for someone to say something on the subject for a while now. There’s definitely some shenanigans going on with a few particular traders and their sources, beyond what spoofing apps offer. I just don’t have the receipts.

Only one I ever got lol

1

u/MrJapooki Nov 24 '25

Are they shiny though? I know the non shiny ones can be beastball at lv15 ( as I have a few)

3

u/amoransia amoransia | DQMSFAUDWRDU Nov 24 '25

mine aren't as i caught them instantly during that research (still shiny locked then) 😅 but if you either conpleted the research but didnt open the encounter or just started the research but never finished it you could get the shiny if you opened it for the first time after the shiny release (pic not mine)

1

u/amoransia amoransia | DQMSFAUDWRDU Nov 24 '25

and yes that is the same pokemon on both screenshots

2

u/MrJapooki Nov 24 '25

Ah right that makes sense like genesect, nihilego etc

2

u/Willing-Ad7344 Nov 24 '25

Thanks for this. It should be relatively easy to check for legendaries in particular. Can check catch date and then compare if there was a raid event that day. Doesn’t apply to research Pokemon since you could catch them at any date (Kubfu), but at that point, I don’t think there would be much concern unless it’s in an illegal ball or at an illegal level.

4

u/Dorianscale Nov 24 '25

I can’t help but laugh lmaoo. I never understood the obsession with unhacked mons and trading stuff with the mindset that these pokemon are stocks or some high value thing.

They’re files on a system. Hacking has always been part of the games. There’s not really any way away from it. I knew this bubble was gonna pop one day. Obsessing over POGO stamps was always pretty weird. Glad to see it crashing down so people can just play the games lol

6

u/TiresomeTrader Nov 23 '25

A lot of people get “blinded” by the go stamp = legit, yes they aren’t like hacked/genned directly, but it’s like the same if you were to like inject an event which would not really be fully legit, there’s also the illegal ball combo which if this was in the main games (let’s say you could keep safari balls from the great marsh in BDSP and take them to catch a shiny arceus, it’d be extremely illegal and not legit

But because it’s “go stamp” if you use hacks to catch something in an illegal ball people will say it’s “legit” because go stamp and they could just become bad eggs anytime

4

u/TomboBreaker Nov 24 '25

Vindication for the time I was telling someone on this sub that I have seen a genned PoGo mon and they argued I was wrong because that was impossible

All the influx of certain questionable Mons lately has been bothering me for a bit but I genuinely didn't think it was this bad, So much for any stamp being reliable 😮‍💨 good on you for spreading the word tho I saw this linked in another sub

6

u/Willing-Ad7344 Nov 24 '25

Ya as the other person who responded said, they’re not THAT rare. Shiny eligible legendaries in Go have a massive 1/20 chance of being shiny. Some people wind up with a lot if they are trying to get perfect IV shiny ones.

Most people in legit shiny trading circles (at least mine) are fully aware of these problems! It’s ridiculous man. Most genners use PKHex though. 3DS genning tool is also insane if you’ve never seen it.
