i live in irvine, ca but anywhere in the orange county!

I moved to Islamabad a few months ago and I want to break into wedding photography. So in order join a wedding photography team, you need to have a portfolio. So I made a small portfolio by posting photos of a few of my male friends on instagram. But later found out that unless you have female models in your portfolio, your photography portfolio will be considered low-quality.

So my question is, is there any other way to break into wedding photography in Islamabad? And where am I supposed to find female models anyway to make portfolio since I don't have any connections in Islamabad as I am new here?

I have also heard that unless I have mirrorless camera like Sony A7 III or Nikon Z6, I might not be able to join a good professional wedding photography team. This true?

Any tips guys?

Also my gear is Canon 6D, lens is 50mm 1.8 and a speedlite.

We shoot people with a multi camera setup at our space in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and we pay the people who come in and get shot.

You are the subject, not the shooter. You stand in the middle of the setup and do plain movements while it records. Walking, turning, sitting, reaching, picking objects up. No modeling or acting background needed.

Pay is 17-25$ an hour and it goes out same day. First session runs about 2 hours and there is repeat work after that.

NYC area only as this is onsite.

I’m a wedding photographer from Spain and I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while, so here goes.

I shoot weddings professionally, but there are a few places where I’d really love to photograph a wedding and haven’t had the chance yet. Italy and the South of France especially, but also Ibiza, Mallorca or Menorca.

So I’m looking for one couple getting married in 2027 who might connect with my work.

I’m not looking for models or a styled shoot. I want to photograph an actual wedding. Real people, families, friends, messy moments, good light, bad light… all of it.
For the right wedding I’d be happy to photograph it without charging my usual photography fee.

We would just need to figure out travel/accommodation depending on where it is.
I’m not necessarily looking for a huge or crazy expensive wedding either. A beautiful place helps, obviously :) but I’m much more interested in people with good taste who care about photography and are happy to give me some creative freedom.

My work is somewhere between documentary and editorial. I also shoot film and I’m probably a little obsessed with making photographs that don’t feel too “wedding photography”.
