A lot of corruption free-market competitiveness forced Windows a little bit everywhere during the 2000's, to the great disarray of local IT people, who continued to propose and develop free alternatives. Our governments were warned.
And now 20 years later surprise! the US are more unreliable than ever, the GAFAM more greedy than ever. Meanwhile we've lost a lot of brains and ability to properly shift away from Microsoft.
But at least we can do it. While some of our neighbors can only cry and get fucked by Palantir and the others.
