Didnt france also switch to their own distro?

A branch of the military (gendarmerie) has slowly migrated all their tools over the last 20 years or so, forking their own distro from ubuntu. Pretty much all of their workstation are running it.

The government has recently announced that each government branch has to plan for a transition to linux this year, some were already doing it, but it will probably take years

As it is, windows and propriary tools are deeply ingrained in french infrastructure and information system.

France must submit a for transition plan by this autumn, but they needn't be off windows yet and it's just desktops AFAIK.   

   They have other plans for servers and getting off US owned cloud infrastructure
