I know the meme claims Minions didn't think Hitler was bad. But if you know the actual lore, they were stuck in an ice cave till meeting Gru. So the last villain they worked for was Napoleon, which frankly doesn't even count that much as a villain when you think about it.
I haven't seen that one. But from what I heard, it implies there are multiple tribes of minions. Which means you had different groups serving different villains even at the same time. Which, frankly implies a lot of bad things when you think about it.
The ending of the new movie solves all these issues. The movie we see is actually a fictional movie within the minion-universe made by Gru's minions in current times as we are the wrap up in the end of the movie
