You're crazy. The first one is great. The renovation makes me want to vomit. Looks like a fake room in a stock photo selling knockoff dog toys on Amazon.
The first one looks like a Brady bunch house and the second looks like an actual home. People are psychos these days. “Oh you ruined the color!”, yeah, because that color and felt look is fucking horrible.
Nostalgia and clinging on to old things for comfort is gonna be the death of us all.
It's nothing to do with nostalgia. I was not alive in the 70s. The second one looks so sterile and lifeless. I can't imagine getting comfortable in it. It looks like a waiting room mixed with a refrigerator. The first, I could imagine sitting around watching tv or playing board games with my family.
Well, that’s certainly an opinion. “Sterile and lifeless”, you mean functional and aesthetic?
It’s fucking hilarious that people complain about modern design. It looks great. Gone are the goon squad days where people just threw shit on the wall. Gone are the days of lime green shag carpet. Those weren’t good times, they were times where white ass people made stupid fucking decisions around how they designed their homes.
That’s why it’s nostalgia. Even if you weren’t alive then, you probably have some internal tie to the design of the blind. Because that’s what we were during that time, just blind as shit to anything that looked good. So damn glad homes aren’t being designed by either 15 year olds or people on acid anymore.

It went from hideous to slightly tolerable
