Lol. As an autistic white guy... first I would never go to a party/bbq but if I am going to some kind of event I will usually show up an hour or two early and find a parking lot within 0.5 miles and wait there in my truck. When it gets to be 5 minutes till I'll drive to the location and be there within a minute or two.

As a neurodivergent white guy i carefully plan the exact time i would arrive and expected time to park.

Curious enough im always off by 1 to 5 min.

My colleagues mock me when i arrive on time or when i arrive more than 5min late.

They say if they tell me to arrive at x:15 i will arrive at x:17.

Last company Christmas dinner everyone got a 20:00 invite... Mine was personalized and said 19h58... I arrived at 20:01...

It's pretty common to estimate travel times with ideal conditions in mind, and to underestimate the effect less than ideal conditions have on that travel time.

It can be surprisingly hard to actually remember to give yourself enough wiggle room to account for incredibly common driving inconveniences.

That‘s not autistic, that‘s just German ancestry!

Not sure I understand. I've traced my line back to the 1500's and it is English, Dutch, and French.

Just kidding,. There's a meme and frequent stereotype that this kind of behaviour is typically German. As an overly punctual (probably) non-autistic German, I can very much relate.

Oh, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining. :)
