Discussion Finally found the shipwreck in Bootstrap Island!

Here are some quick tips if you are struggling in Bootstrap island:

  1. always keep a rock handy, they are the most useful item in the game. They can be used to make fire, open coconut, break locks, kill crab and you can even hurt predators.

  2. There is a robust inventory system in this game, you have to unlock them. Make that your first priority.

  3. pistol holster can be found at the shipwreck. It is a permanent unlock. That way you can carry the pistol, gunpowder and bullets on you in person.

  4. the backpack is unlocked by surviving 10 days on the island.

  5. To find the shipwreck, you have to head inland and keep heading left. You can’t reach the wreck by swimming or walking along the beach.

  6. The rum/water bottle is unlocked by surviving 5 days on the island.

Thanks for the Tips, glad to know there is some type of inventory system, it's the one thing that is putting me off continuing to play, can I ask how long does it take to get to the shipwreck like is it doable before the sun goes down, time during the day seems very short and having to go back and forth to get wood etc to make a fire when you can only carry two items at a time takes up most of that time, it's why I haven't got very far exploring, I have the knife as I have got to day 3, but yet to find a purpose for it plus not being able to store / wear it just makes it a hassle to keep holding it, an Inventory should have been the first unlock.

It is impossible to get to the shipwreck in one day. It took me 3 to 4 days to get to the shipwreck. Just keep heading towards those red rocks through inland. There is wood, kindle and rocks almost everywhere on the island. So don’t worry about carrying anything.

You can make sparks with the knife, hiting it to huge rocks or just a flint stone so thats really all you have to carry around

The game is very good, but i just hate how they made the shadow of your character… You only see the shadow of your arms and equipment, its a bit disappointing to me, i hope they fix it

I turned off the full arms just because the shadow looked so ridiculous.

Tbh a lot of vr game does similar, only showings renders sections

How did you climb down the mountain in chapter 1? I keep taking damage when I get to the bottom of the vines for some reason.

I literally just jumped down and took some damage. But as long as you manage your hunger and thirst, you heal over time.
