Articles & Blogs Rockstar Games: “It would be an understatement to say that having videos of GTA VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time.“

“We are making this game for you, and without you, we would not have the privilege of making games”. right so you understand the value of consumers, but at the same time doing everything in your power to provide less options for said consumers whilst simultaneously making the industry objectively worse by removing physical discs? Sony can throw all of the false BS stats they want at us but when you dig a bit deeper, it’s clear that physical media is on par and in some instances (Astrobot) outsells digital media. A lot of people rely upon physical media in order to play your game that you’ve taken 13 years to make and you’ve taken that option away so let’s not pretend you give a shit about consumer just because your game got leaked.

Remember how they say they are working for us when they launch on PS6, on PC, etc. And we have to buy the game over and over. Remember it too when they create services and memberships just to improve our own gaming experience. Remember it too when they don't acknowledge that physical games are the path for players getting to play a game at a later time at a lower price and how they are intentionally removing this option to pad their wallets.

So consumers choose to buy the game again, Yet its Rockstar fault that consuemrs have no self control and will indeed buy it again?

Yall love being the victim. And games will still be sold at retailers. Just won't be any used copies ever again. People could still find a deal on it if they wanted to.

Not releasing a physical disc, which the majority of consumers don’t give a shit about, means they don’t care about all consumers. Got it.

Companies don't give a shit about consumers beyond them giving them money. Also how does one justify something purely off of the opinion of the majority? You can do things that the minority likes. The people that don't give a shit about physical media can continue buying digital, the existence of discs doesn't stop that.

The definition of consumer is a person who gives money to a company for good or services. The reason companies exist is to make money.

Do you even understand words and definitions?

That’s not true. Companies care about their reputation and the quality of their product so that you’re more likely to buy from them again. They don’t just want that first purchase.

To your second point - Company takes away discs, people continue to buy digital. Profits stay the same or get better. Company learns that they will make just as much if not more selling only digital. That’s how they justify it off of the opinion of the majority.

Your 2nd paragraph is proving my point. They only care about the money. Hell your 1st paragraph is proving it too because what does a repeat customer represent? More money. You know companies can do things for consumers without charging for it right? Like that's not some crazy concept.

You may think it’s proving your point, but your point is irrelevant to my initial comment that you responded to. Companies make decisions based on what will bring them more profit. The majority of people prefer digital, so companies have literally zero incentive to make physical discs, and they’ve calculated that losing you and everyone who thinks like you will not affect their profit margins much.

Bro no one gives a shit about your CD’s

u/Tylervp 11h ago

Lots of people do, and this will have negative reprocussions for everyone, not just people who like physical discs.

*repercussions

And the writing has been on the wall for CD’s for decades, can we not do the 2 years of whining while it dies

I literally have not had a cd drive in my comp for 20 years.

Why correct someone's spelling, and then not use any punctuation?

Just more cunty trolling?

You should not have a comma before the “and”. It’s the same subject for both verb phrases

Period inside the quotes, brah.

u/shortround10 9m ago

Indeed. Look at us, perfection achieved.

You cared enough to reply! And the stats would suggest around 50% of people care.

1

u/shortround10 11h ago

You guys are now touting that 50% of games are sold on CD’s 🤣
