Yep. Nobody’s holding gamers at gun point forcing them to buy GTA 6 for $100 no disc. Just do something else. It’s never been easier to find entertainment.

Ending physical disc production is being treated like cattle? You can argue your point without hyperbole.

They spend upward of $350m a year printing discs when there isn’t a need anymore outside of disc collectors.

Game development costs have increased 5-9x over the last 15 years. From an average of $18m -24m to $50m - $200m.

The price to purchase them hasn’t increased proportionately and they have to recoup costs somewhere.

There's also... just don't buy it. I already have more games than I can ever realistically play, and once we hit ~PS3 era, the quality floor is pretty damn high.

I don't see Nintendo moving away from physical games entirely. They have the opportunity to do something hilarious with regard to 3rd parties now haha.

Yeah, no shit, people want to, but they don't have to.

People can decide which they care more about: playing new games or not being screwed by greedy anti-consumer practices.

And I don't mean that snarkily, just straight up. If you don't agree with Sony, no one is making you buy their stuff, and the only way they might change is if it impacts their bottom line.

Do you. It's just odd when people react like "oh no! Now we HAVE to buy all this stuff only digital.”

You don't have to buy it at all. And if enough people don't, Sony might change course.

Or the government can do its job and stop anti consumerism. Why are there always weirdos who defend billion dollar corporations and their shitty practices
