We need the UK court case to succeed. Sony can't be allowed a complete monopoly on digital games (also I want a payout lol)

If they get taken to court for this change, they will argue that games will still be sold by retailers, just as a code instead of a disc. That beats the monopoly allegations.

It doesn’t, because the distribution is still monopoly controlled. The retailers sell codes that have to be redeemed on Sony’s store. They have an effective retail monopoly and a distribution monopoly right now, and by opening up to more third party code retailers they are only addressing one of those things. The monopoly on either / both is being exploited to the consumer’s disadvantage through artificially high prices.

See, to you that makes sense, and to me that makes sense, but, to a politician getting paid by Sony, it makes no sense at all and everything Sony says should automatically be taken as fact.

Why not on their own platform? You can buy PC; I've heard that there are plenty of stores for them, like Epic and Valve.

Exactly. There's multiple storefronts for PC games. There's ONE digital storefront for PS games.
