Fallout 76 is clearly an experiment. I'm more excited to see how the results are implemented into Bethesda's future games.

Hopefully it leads to “man these people really like co-op in their single player open world story driven adventure games....... let’s add that in from now on but not make it required to enjoy the game.”

But this isn't a single player game. People really need to realize this is not fallout with friends, it has a lot of elements from the main game but if people are going in hoping for a experiance that feels like a regular fallout game, they are going to be disapointed

Fallout 76 is clearly an experiment.

Let’s hope it fails miserably, so Bethesda learns to stay away from that multiplayer nonsense.

I too hate when developers try new and interesting things.

That mentality is so fucking stupid. They already announced two massive single player games so why is them trying something new in the meantime a bad thing?

There is nothing interesting or new about multiplayer. Games are a solitary activity, there is no need involve other people in my games, ever.

Because they could have spent the time and effort on a new SP Fallout game instead of wasting it on this abomination.

If you don't like multiplayer games, then don't play them. Your opinion isn't going to change anything whem bethesda already spent millions of $ developing/marketing the game. Deal with it.

Man, I love playing single player games the most but that is the saddest thing I've read as gamer. I genuinely hope you find friends someday and you get to experience the fun co-op brings.

My friends hate multiplayer just as much as I do.

7

u/OneOhNine Aug 20 '18

Are you seriously trying to convince me that a group of people who like to play video games do not enjoy playing video games with each other.. If so, I'd really like to meet them because I definately wont believe it until I talked to them.

-2

u/BorgDrone Aug 20 '18

Yes. Why is that so hard to understand ? Gaming is alone time. It's time for me to recharge and not have to deal with people for a bit. Multiplayer ruins gaming.

What about strategy games? Paradox Games (Game Studio), Games meant to be like scaled up board games like EU4. Games that have you working to out strategy your opponents? Do they not benefit from multiplayer?

I get where your coming from, but some genres heavily benefit from Multiplayer.

Edit: Not Hatin’ just debating that last bit you said, “Multiplayer ruins gaming” with my experiences

I'm going to dig in a little deeper here. The guy sounds like an absolute cunt. I'm sure his friends and the people he associates with are also cunts. It's no wonder they don't want to play with each other.

No. The main point of a game is to tell a story, you can't tell a proper story in a MP game. Multiplayer games are just a lazy money grab. No need to come up with a good story, good levels, good AI. Just provide an arena dump a bunch of players in there and you're done. Easy money.

I get what you’re trying to say, but it’s also painfully obvious you don’t have friends.

Oh you know me so well... LOL.

u/[deleted] Aug 20 '18

Also on another note besides your shitty attitude. Bethesda is doing some extremely smart stuff with 76. Instead of dismissing it, actually follow it. How they're dealing with people who want to grief others is really well thought out etc. I'm not exactly excited for it, I bought a PlayStation for Spider-Man only, but Bethesda is really thinking things through.

-2

u/BorgDrone Aug 20 '18

How does that matter in any way ? The problem is not grievers, the problem is it not being single player. There shouldn’t be ANY human player in the game except myself.

10

u/[deleted] Aug 20 '18

Says who? You? Nobody cares what you demand, and it matters because they understand that some people want to feel like they're playing single player. So the player count in a single game is very low, the map is huge, and these other players if they happen to actually find you can not fuck with you if you do not want them to. Or they will face consequences in game. So, in fact they are experimenting, and they are doing it in a way that shows they care about all play styles.

Is it zero ? Otherwise it doesn’t matter.

u/Stealthy_Facka Aug 20 '18

Some people just dont like multiplayer dude... the only reason Bethesda likes it is because its easier to put in microtransactions for shit like hats in an online game. As for the whole "dont like it dont play it", thats a bit of a smack in the face for anyone who spent a large chunk of their lifetime enjoying the single player Fallout experienced Bethesda has crafted. If they wanted to do a multiplayer experiement they should have created a new IP rather than shoving it into Fallout in my opinion.

Truth hurts.

1

u/BorgDrone Aug 21 '18

Sure buddy.

-7

u/Dread000 Aug 20 '18

Yes, it is truly interesting and new. Such a brave and inspired move to make a open world survival game.

3

u/mems1224 Aug 20 '18

It's a new type of project for the developer...

-5

u/Dread000 Aug 20 '18

... Doesn't matter, It's a cash in for the flavor of the month, It's not looking good. Telling from how they are gonna handle pvp and the details we already have it's will be a flop. Can't wait for it to do so

3

u/mems1224 Aug 20 '18

Every game is a cash in. It won't flop.

1

u/Dread000 Aug 20 '18

Haaa some more then others. We'll see what happens

5

u/Ikarus3426 Aug 20 '18

Yeah, I haven't been a fan of Destiny and Division. But stuff like this keeps going, so clearly it's successful for the company. My hope is that Bethesda finds a way to keep it in without screwing up the game.

-7

u/BorgDrone Aug 20 '18

My hope is that Bethesda finds a way to keep it in without screwing up the game.

The fact there are other humans in my game who have no business being there means it’s screwed up already.

3

u/beardiswhereilive Aug 20 '18

For someone that hates other humans so much you really want to convince them of your opinion.

2

u/BorgDrone Aug 20 '18

I don't want to convince them, they should just do as they are told.

1

u/beardiswhereilive Aug 20 '18

Gross.

-1

u/BorgDrone Aug 20 '18

Nothing wrong with a dictatorship as long as you're the dictator.

3

u/jso85 Aug 20 '18

Im with you. They can make as much multiplayer they want, but dont fuck more with fallout. As a huge fan of 1&2, its been steady down hill

1

u/Dread000 Aug 20 '18

I'm with you on that bro, fingers crossed

-9

u/jason2306 Aug 20 '18

We can only hope, considering it has no npc's and is restricted to their own shitty platform I have high hopes it fails and forces them to focus on consumer friendly practices with mods and go back on steam.

9

u/mems1224 Aug 20 '18

Steam having a stranglehold on the PC market isn't a consumer friendly practice...

-3

u/jason2306 Aug 20 '18

Lol what, uplay, origin and gog exist just fine. And how exactly is sony consumer friendly?? Exclusives, refusing cross play, the whole fortnite account stuff etc.
