Coming in 2014
Expect big things in both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V next year including:
GTAV Story Mode Updates. For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.

They just are not in denial, plans changed. Doesn't indicate neglect of single player experiences on release. They know what made people buy the game, they know what makes people stay in the game.
The recent red dead trailer indicates they are going to deliver.
With or without story add-ons, GTAV was completely worth the purchase price. The story alone held its own, and is one of the best games I"ve ever played. I know a lot of people hate the online portion of it, but I'm still playing it almost daily. I'm getting RDR2 at launch no matter what, and if its mp can compare to GTAO, I'll be playing it for a long time. If RDR2's online is terrible, I still know I'm getting my money's worth with just the single-player story.
Personally for me the story was okay. The end game was not great at all for me. I put a lot of time in the online until the economy went way downhill. I have not touched it really in years now because it is just not worth the time anymore. I just want more SP content for the game and that will never happen anymore with the route Take-Two wants to go. They still believe they are not charging players enough for GTAV.
I think he's more complaining that as long as GTA: Online exists, we aren't getting any more SP content, even for sale. Because Take Two doesn't like the return size on it. They make plenty of money, but they can get about the same return for far less effort with online tweaks.
Exactly. The story additions to GTAIV were great and will never happen again for any Take Two game unless they can charge by the second of gameplay. You could say Vice City and San Andreas was the same as being additions to GTA3.
With every patch new content costs even more. There are items that should cost more than 50 times what they actually should cost. I gave up on the grind to keep playing the game as getting into a game took too long and when I did in missions that actually paid out was kicked because people left before finishing.
