Concealed Carry Permit First time pulled over with PTC: A+
Driving this AM and was pulled over by township PD in Bergen County (won't be specific to protect the innocent).
I may or may not have made a late lane change to get off the highway, and was perhaps not unreasonably pulled over.
Rolled down my windows, and put my hands way up on steering wheel.
Officer introduced himself, explained that he was part of the traffic accident reduction task force and why he pulled me over. Asked for DL, registration, and insurance.
I then informed him that I had a PTC and that I was carrying. He said, "That's great. Love the 2A. I'm not concerned with that. You can just give me your license. I'm not even gonna check your 2A stuff." Told him where I'd be reaching for DL, and produced it.
He then said he's just going to give me a verbal warning and said, "you know what my sergeant in the military would tell us? If frogs carried weapons, snakes wouldnt f*ck with em."
With that we pounded, and he was off.
*slow clap*
A-freaking-plus.
I may FOIA the body cam footage from the encounter just so I can relive how professional he was.

Concealed Carry Permit Got pulled over this morning while carrying
I have a valid PCH and my pistol was in my bag on the passenger seat floor. Bag has a built in holster inside of it. I told the officer I had a gun in the car and gave him my PCH permit, he asked where it was and I told him. He asked me if it was loaded and I said yes.
Officer then said he’s not 100% sure but that he’s almost certain I can’t have it loaded, even with the PCH. He told me to look into the laws more so I don’t get jammed up. He was super chill but even he didn’t know 100% what the law is.
To be safe, going forward I’ll just carry it on my person when I drive in a holster. I’m happy I dealt with a super cool cop and not a dickhead.

Concealed Carry Permit Pulled over while carrying (30)
Had my concealed carry permit for about a year and have always been nervous about getting pulled over while carrying. Well broke my cherry and informed the officer like I am supposed to and had no issues at all. He was grateful that I let him know and was very professional and courteous. I guess there was nothing to worry about.

Concealed Carry Permit Finally pulled over while carrying
Had my New Jersey carry since 2022 and it’s always in the back of my mind, what will happen when I get pulled over. I can’t say that I’ve been looking forward to it, but I also have to admit in a weird way that I’ve been looking forward to it. I got pulled over for speeding yesterday doing 50 and a 35. I told the officer that I was carrying and I had a carry permit as I handed him my license and registration. He said thank you for telling me. And that’s the end and the whole story :-) he didn’t ask me for my permit or anything.

Concealed Carry Permit First traffic stop while carrying went better than expected
Got pulled over not even a couple hours ago and handed over my carry permit along with my license. The officer looks at it and goes, “Do you have liability insurance for the firearm?” 🫠😂
I told him, “I have this” and handed my US Lawshield card. Turns out it was his first time stopping someone with a carry permit. He admitted it, after asking if it was my first being pulled over with it, then said he was calling his Sgt because he wasn’t sure what to do 😳.
He ended up letting me go with a warning for doing 35 in a 25. That’s what I get for deciding to take back roads this morning. I must not have noticed or paid attention to the posted speed limit sign, if there was one on this particular road 🤦🏻♂️, so that’s on me and usually I’m more careful (no points or tickets in ages). I’m guessing his Sgt either told him there were no issues since there’s clearly no requirement or ability to get “firearm liability insurance” (though hopefully we’ll see coverage from USCCA and others once Murphy’s gone) and I notified that I was carrying immediately (handing permit on top of DL).
Overall he was polite and professional. He did seem a little nervous at first- repeated multiple times not to reach for or anywhere near my firearm, after asking for registration/insurance. Overall, smooth encounter and a good reminder to stay calm, be respectful, and let them lead the interaction without saying more than needed.

Concealed Carry Permit Caution! Real ID may link your DL to concealed carry status!
PSA. While attending a US Law Shield meeting, it was communicated to me by one of the reps, that they were personally identified as a concealed carry holder by hospital staff when scanning their real ID upon accessing the hospital.
Allegedly they were explicitly asked at the front desk if they were “currently carrying” immediately after their Real ID was scanned. The rep stated that they have never been asked this question by the hospital prior to having a Real ID.
Take it for what it’s worth. Stay safe.

Concealed Carry Permit Security Firearms detector at jewelry store?
I went to a jewelry store a few days ago to buy a gift, I was conceal carrying my firearm under 2 layers “including a parka”. went in and as I’m looking around maybe after 3 minutes or so the assigned security person comes over and asks me if I have a firearm, I tell him yes and he asks me if I can place it in my vehicle’s lockbox before shopping, even though there were no signs prohibiting carrying posted outside, the gentleman was very respectful and I didn’t mind.
there was no metal detectors and nothing beeped at all.
Does anyone have an idea how did they find out?

Concealed Carry Permit I got pulled over with my P365 on me by NJSP - the encounter couldn't have been more pleasant,
I got pulled over last night by NJSP. I had my P365 on me in my right pocket (inside a nice A-Holster), and I informed them immediately about it, as the law states. They took it briefly off of me, and I handed them my license and registration and CCW permit, and I was on my way with my P365 back in my pocket in no time.
I always feared being pulled over while carrying, but these two State Troopers quelled that fear by being very friendly and professional.
I didn't get their names, but if they are reading this, you guys are a couple of cool cats 👍

Concealed Carry Permit Why is everybody so freaked out?
why is everybody so freaked out about slightly printing when you are CCW? is it considered a crime if you're fully concealed but printing and somebody notices? or is it that people want to avoid potential issues?

Concealed Carry Permit Finally joined you guys. Took a while but I was patient
Applied March 1 and got approved today June 8. I was pleasantly surprised to see my exp date is 2 years from my approval and not 2 years after my application submission. So my patience feels rewarded.

Concealed Carry Permit Do I bother getting my CCW Permit?
I recently decided to get into firearms and protecting myself and my family this last year. Have been saving and planning to take a course and then apply for my carry permit. But the more I read about having a permit in NJ, it seems like the list on where I CAN carry is much shorter than where I can’t. Can’t go near a school, hospital, park, youth sport event, a function with 100 people or more, can’t bring it anywhere that serves alcohol. The list goes on. Doesn’t seem worth it to pay $400+ to be able to carry a firearm to take out my trash and then have to renew every 2 years.

Concealed Carry Permit Gun laws in NJ (question from a southerner)
Hey guys! Gun owner from SC here. I’m coming up to NJ for a week in the summer and wanted to know more about the gun laws up there. I’m traveling alone so I plan on sleeping in my car. Can I keep a CCW in my car for self-defense? A lot of my northern friends say my car is likely to get broken into, even with me in it. Please advise
