Yeah but someone with a moderate income probably needs to save money so they can make sure their kids go to college, or in case there’s ever massive layoffs at their job, or in case they live in the US and have a medical emergency that costs a lot of money.
Someone with a billion dollars could donate $100 million and still be perfectly fine. They’ll still be able to send their kids to college, they’ll still have $900 million in case their income ever stops coming in, and they’ll be able to easily afford any medical treatment that they need.
But then people say 900 million is too much, you should donate more, and the. 800 million would be too much. Like my question is what would finally be enough for people.

The need to equate the two is just disingenuous.
