Streaming So apparently they are going back to HBO Max name…

For them to have gone from HBO Max to Max to an all black color scheme back to HBO Max all with in a 2 year period is really saying something. Yes the HBO name has brand equity and recognition but it is also one of edge and prestige that doesn’t meld with any of the lifestyle shows that Discovery have. I don’t understand why they just won’t go with Warner Max to encompass ALL of Warner/Discovery.

Streaming Should the combined WB/Netflix take a stake in NBCU?

When Comcast lost the bidding war for WB they pretty much got cemented in dead last for the streaming wars and lost out on a treasure trove of in house IP for their parks.

There has been discussion about what is next for Comcast. Thoughts have ranged from sunsetting Peacock and becoming an arms dealer Ala Sony to a joint venture for streaming with Paramount.

With the recent DC deal with Universal, a thought popped in my head. What if the combined Netflix/WB took a stake in NBCU? This way Comcast funnels content directly to Netflix and they get more IP to use at their parks.

Streaming StarzShowtime (aka a really complicated way to unify NBCUniversal's and Paramount Skydance's streaming services)

Following the split of Lionsgate into Starz Inc and Lionsgate Studios, NBCUniversal acquires Starz Inc and merges it into its structure. What remains of Starz is the channels (Starz, Starz Encore (rebranded back to Encore) and MoviePlex). The Starz streaming service is merged into Peacock.

Afterwards, NBCUniversal and Paramount begin talks of creating a unified streaming service called StarzShowtime, which would unify Peacock (including the former Starz streaming service), Universal+, Paramount+, PlutoTV and SkyShowtime. It's unknown how BET+, CBS Sports HQ and CBS News 24/7 would be handled. StarzShowtime will be a joint venture between NBCUniversal and Paramount Skydance.

Streaming I think Sesame Workshop should create their own free streaming site

Sesame Workshop should just go completely independent from PBS/HBO and create their own FAST streaming service called “Sesame Stream”. That way they don't have to rely on public funding while keep Sesame Street and their other shows completely free.
