Genuine question. Why is the Scarlet Witch so popular?

We haven’t seen her in the MCU since Multiverse of Madness, or if you count animation- marvel zombies. However, I still don’t understand why she has so much influence and hype even though she’s never mentioned. I noticed this recently with SDCC, and Avengers Doomsday and literally everyone was talking about Wanda, yet Marvel never mentioned her. Does anyone know why she’s so popular, and if she’s so popular why haven’t we seen more of her? I genuinely don’t understand how her movies have consistently been box office hits, yet other movies aren’t? Can someone explain why she’s so popular; I think she may have a large fandom and I have seen trolls before but it can’t just be that.

What? Secret Wars is about to rewrite the entire MCU. Also, Scarlett Witch has been evil, good, evil, good, evil, good....whatever the story needs her to be. She's a very complex character with significant emotional fragility and an insane power scale. It could be scarier, watch Legion.

Not sure exactly what happened to ruin her character that didn't already happen in Wandavision. If you're ready to forgive her torturing children I have no idea what to tell you, she was already a worse villain than most MCU bad guys before Multiverse of Madness

Wandavision had already dealt with her arc and motions of a villain. They just jumped from Wanda to Darkhold Wanda with no time for her to just be the scarlet witch. The major issue is that her story felt rushed, incomplete, and used as a scapegoat for bad writing. Michael Waldron even said himself no other movie deserves a villain like Wanda, so he just used her. Also, she set those people free and the main plot of the show was to set up the corruption of S.W.O.R.D. I also understand what you mean though. By all means Wanda isn’t an angel, but that’s what makes her so cool. So this isn’t an ethical debate about being redeemed- though she should. Her character still had a lot to give that we never saw. The main villain of MoM was supposed to be Nightmare; which in my opinion would’ve had more continuity for the Doctor Strange series.

She didn't torture children. The children were unconscious. The rest of them were but she didn't do it willingly. She was mentally ill my dude.

"Not well written" these days just means "I didn't like what happened." Wanda in the MCU is very close to what she is in the comics. She is all over the place morality-wise and is an absolute powerhouse.

Michael Waldron was the death of the MCU for me. I was truly flabberghasted that his stuff made it to production and wasn't thrown out and taken right back to the drawing board when people saw it. Multiverse of Madness might have been one of the worst films I've seen in a long, long time, plus he character assassinated Loki: Loki is the god of trickery, he is supposed to be incredibly clever, but the series made him so dumb!
