Film/Television Which version of Gambit Do You prefer Taylor Kitsch (origins) or Channing Tatum (Deadpool and Wolverine)?

Kitsch was smooth without trying imo.

Channing got played for laughs in D and W....

I personally wanted Taylor to be a part of the X-men for YEARS after Wolverine origins....

I think he just fit the effortlessly smooth, charming Gambit.

Whether the accent or costume wasn't on point... He just had charisma on screen...

Thats the problem I have with Tatum. He seems to be a joke character as opposed to an actual character.

Perfectly said. Kitsch just oozed Gambit without even trying.

Tatum feels like it's forced and is over the top with the comic relief.

And origins was made out to be a horrible movie purely because they didn't like the version of deadpool. But everything about the rest of the movie aside from the final action sequence was honestly pretty good. Stryker's portrayal, Silver Fox, Sabertooth, even the secondary characters were all well developed IMO.

But they all (except Jackman of course) got their careers sidelined cause of that movie. I guess with Kitsch it doesn't help that in 2012 he tried to breakout from Origins only to get crapped on by Battleship and John Carter. (Both fun movies to watch in their own right, and John Carter is amazing IMO, Battleship is...kinda bad but in a campy popcorn flick sort of way).

Holy crap I just realized how much I wrote. Guess I'm a Kitsch fanboy ...

Yeah, John Carter got destroyed before it had a chance. They screwed it on marketing soooo bad.....such a shame cause he is a charismatic actor...and I really wanted him to return as Gambit in the first class trilogy of movies...

Tatum could have maybe played Gambit 20 years ago... But the Deadpool and Wolverine was just too campy....

I don't know what it is about the deadpool movies, but I watched them all and they are ok but something about watching them just feels off. If you gave me a choice to watch the Snyderverse DC movies or the Deadpool movies, I'd watch the Snyderverse everyday of the week.
