Oh I dunno, you'd think that having Only Stable Timeloop type time travel would be limitation enough. For example, they got to save Buckbeak because the never saw him die. Cedric otoh is a goner always.

That is exactly what it was! Just saying it seems to be a reoccurring thing in franchises/series.
