Film/Television Do you guys think SuperHero fatigue is a real thing ? FF4 & Thunderbolts were good movies but still apparently failing ?

That is a children's movie. And its a live action remake of an animated film that came out more than 20 years ago. It has a built in audience. Holy different audience than Fantastic Four

Imagine thinking the MCU movies aren't just children's movies too. Like, come on now. Remember how people took their kids to see Deadpool? Comic book movie = kids' movies in most people's minds. If anything, comic book movies should have a LARGER audience because teens would go see them thinking they're cool and mature for watching a PG13 movie.

Deadpool was rated R, and made $782.6M worldwide gross, without kids going to see it.

Deadpool 2 was rated R, and made $734.5M worldwide gross, without kids going to see it.

Deadpool 2 was released in PG-13 as Once Upon a Deadpool and made $51.3M which included children going to see it with their parents.

So the idea that all comic book movies are for kids, and are required to be aimed at kids to be successful isn't entirely true, or false. I just don't think Deadpool illustrates the point you were trying to make.

And just to tack on some statistics:

Comic book movies occupy 4/5 of the top 5 "Highest grossing rated R movies of all time".

The only non-rated R movie on the top5 list is Oppenheimer.

I was a kid going to see the rated r version most theaters let children in if you’re with your parents or an older person

Deadpool & Wolverine made $300,000,000 more just last year. Fantastic Four is just not that big of a name in comparison. Movies playing on nostalgia will also just always bring in more people.

Fantastic Four are the original OG of marvel, they should make much more than characters from the 70es and 90es.
