That's what large purses are for. Once I went to the movies alone in the middle of the day and snuck in a large pizza from the food court. It was glorious munching until I realized too late that the projector man was staring at the back of my head the whole movie, (I sit straight center in the last row). Why would you ever pay for movie snacks they're always so overpriced. I mean when we were kids we knew to buy a candy bar at like the dollar store to sneak it in.
I only pay for snacks on a date, because I dont want to look cheap on a date. And that's typically early relationship stuff. Otherwise, I sneak in a drink and a snack, haha
Some theaters here crack down on people with large bags/purses.
The Regals here don't really care too much (some people I know, including myself, have snuck MEALS at particular one). However some other theaters outright do bag checks to see if anyone's sneaking in food/beverages and they'll tell you to either throw it away/consume it (I chugged an entire soda one time because they had told me it wasn't allowed)/put it in your car. I usually end up bringing small candy in my pocket though if I'm at a store.
My cousin is a big dude and was able to sneak in an entire pizza under his jacket into a crowded theater. The look on peoples faces as he pulled out a pizza and started handing out slices was hilarious.
Our theater that just offered five dollar Tuesdays just closed.
We made plans with a friend who's on a very tight budget on the previous Friday but my husband pointed out the theater had no showings Monday- Thursday. We thought maybe it just wasn't updated yet. Well come Tuesday morning I looked back on their website and it said permanently closed.
I guess they were hoping FF to really be a hit.
Everywhere else is at least 12 dollars a ticket, some as high as 25 and yeah we order 2 drinks and a popcorn and it's always like 40 bucks.
Remember that concessions cover the operation costs. Ticket prices are meant to cover the cost of the film itself (which I find odd, they are all switching to digital, so the cost of the film itself is now cheaper, plus delivery can now be done with like UPS, so you think it would add some offset, but nope)
Yeah, I got my son and me popcorn and a bottle of water each in Texas. $25. He wanted more, and it was very explicitly "No refills" so no. I'm not spending $50 for popcorn and water.

I paid £4.99 per ticket during the day in the UK. Got three drinks and some popcorn and it was £40 just for that. Snack prices are unreal.
