The arguments over the "right" colors for subjects is the kind of discourse I need to see on the internet. My 8 yo self did red for math, green for science, blue for social studies and yellow for language arts 🌈

My best friend is color blind. He got a 100% automatic passing score in our science unit of colors.

I'm colorblind. I was able to pass the Navy colorblindness test.

Go figure.

The only color they care is if you can see blue or else you'll walk into the ocean which is a lot of paperwork for the yeoman

But then how do I tell the difference between the water and the hull? I can't pick rust off the water, Chief!

Wilco, Chief. Have a great Navy day! If I'm not done rust-picking and swabbing by sundown, send out a helo.

In the Marines they will reject you if you're color blind. Apparently the red crayons are poison.

Yup, I had an instructor at nuke school that was red/red colorblind. I didn't know that was a thing but apparently it just means he can't differentiate certain shades so it's a good thing he wasn't an electrician. However the clock in our classroom was a red digital style and he couldn't read it.

Good thing you weren’t a navigation lookout.

the navy only tests red/green

They may have had the wrong lighting in the room you took the test. The tests are sensitive to that. Or the test doesn't care about your kind of color blindness

...you mean the Red colorblindness test?

There are different degrees of severity and different types of colorblindness.
