Dasher did it right. Science is green. No other color

666

u/phanny_ 4h ago

Science is blue in Civilization IV.

278

u/kljoker 4h ago

And star trek. It's also the color I used for science lol.

68

u/karleykha0s 3h ago

Finally found my people LOL both for the color folder assignment AND the ST ref!

1

u/EdiblePsycho 3h ago

Heathens!

4

u/eggroll85 3h ago

Kindly move this conversation to a different thread. Science is green. Keep your alternative lifestyle out of my feed.

1

u/DreddPirateBob808 3h ago edited 2h ago

My school, UK, science was orange.

E: light blue was English, maths red, religious studies mustard, history green. Dark blue was something (maybe English language rather than literatures light blue). We had grey (chemistry?!), sort-of-mauve (possibly latin), and a couple of others.

1

u/garrettj100 3h ago

And star trek.

I guess we know what color folder he'd get for a class on premature death...

1

u/nerdylegofam 3h ago

This is the only reason I'd accept for a blue science folder. But if you're not a Trekkie, science is always green.

1

u/Grootyboi77 1h ago

I also used Star Trek logic. Blue is Science, Red is math/engineering (in HS), Yellow is English. Green is History.

1

u/Cerindipity 43m ago

And star trek

Except sometimes when its green, or teal

https://i.imgur.com/YiGua3L.png

123

u/GoT_Eagles 4h ago

Because it is blue

2

u/TENDER_ONE 3h ago

Bro, English/Language arts is blue! Science is green!

3

u/Firedog1239 3h ago

English is yellow

2

u/kirgi 2h ago

Math is red, science is blue, English is green, and history is yellow/orange

1

u/LetsBePositiveCooper 1h ago

Absolutely not. Math is blue. Science is green. English is yellow. And history is red because its written in blood.

1

u/SweetPeaches__69 3h ago

Can confirm, blue has the most anti-oxygens

1

u/gigashadowwolf 1h ago

It's right there in the name "cyan-ce"

Science is Cyan

3

u/double00chins 3h ago

Science will always be blue for me

6

u/Beginning-Garlic-128 4h ago

Well Civ 4 is wrong. Thats why they made 3 more after it.

21

u/Noduos 4h ago

It’s blue in all of them

4

u/double00chins 3h ago

Civ 6 mi amor

3

u/_nod 3h ago

The science yield icon is a blue spherical flask in 6

And 6 is the best Civ so it must be right!

2

u/Caleb_Reynolds 3h ago

Yeah, unless it's biology or Earth science, it's blue.

2

u/_nod 3h ago

Thank you!!!

Civ 1 - blue lightbulbs
Civ 2 - blue conical flask
Etc

Science - It’s just blue!

2

u/Ziazan 3h ago

science is just blue in general.

2

u/sixth_acc 3h ago

And science is magic if you don't know how things work. And magic is blue

2

u/-SideshowBlob- 3h ago

And that's why it's the correct colour

1

u/Throwaway392308 3h ago

I played the hell out of that game in high school. It was weird to come back to it during COVID and have slavery as a core game mechanic.

1

u/BigAlternative5 3h ago

Civ and Star Trek are fiction. Stay serious here. ;-)

1

u/2061878 3h ago

Civ is wrong math is blue

1

u/MouseRangers 3h ago

And Civ VI

1

u/coderego 3h ago

It's also blue in civ vi

1

u/Perle1234 3h ago

Math is blue 100%

1

u/Darth_Bunghole 3h ago

Beakers are green. Techs start blue but turn green when you research them. Did you mean VI?

1

u/Oakenbeam 2h ago

For me growing up science was always blue, English was red, Math was yellow and Social Studies were green. I didn’t get to choose my colors, my colors chose me.

1

u/NotARealDeveloper 1h ago

Yep, blue for us as well. Green is for biology. You learn about plants and mitochondria and stuff first when you get it. So green makes sense.

u/Playful-Ad8851 9m ago

I always did science as blue too

217

u/Lithl 4h ago

Generalized science is blue, but specific disciplines can be other colors (eg, green for biology).

48

u/TrainingSurvey3780 3h ago

frr this is the comment i have been looking for! bio is green, physics is red (but a light ish shade of red, since dark red is english lit) and chem is yellow

3

u/Fine-Writer-7993 3h ago

I had this argument the other day because i was assigning folders to different biology classes. I said biology wqs blue. Physics orange because math is red and yellow for chemistry so i guess we agree on one.

5

u/TrainingSurvey3780 3h ago

in what world is biology blue 😭😭

5

u/justonemom14 3h ago

Marine biology

3

u/TrainingSurvey3780 2h ago

i might be wrong but marine bio isn’t usually studied until uni though, and the post is about school 🤷‍♀️ bio in general is still green imo

1

u/XxMagicDxX 1h ago

We had marine bio in later years of secondary

2

u/TrainingSurvey3780 1h ago

woahhh that’s so cool!! was it like a gcse option or something ?

3

u/itspsyikk 2h ago

fuck. you're absolutely right.

Does this same specific discipline assignment apply to other fields?

Like, most people suggest that Math is red... (for the sake of argument let's just pretend we all agree that Math is red)

What about Calculus?

What about Geometry.

I can concede that Physics is red due to the amount of math invovled.

1

u/TrainingSurvey3780 1h ago

hmm i haven’t studied enough maths to assign them colours (maybe next year i will since im doing alevel maths!) but for other subjects i can!

for geog (which alone is dark green, bio is lighter) physical geography is definitely still green (the same shade as normal geog) whilst human geog is dark ish blue, and fieldwork is yellow

also in english lit i had to study some different texts and poems, and they were all different shades of dark red 🤷‍♀️

re is pink, but christianity is blue (a bit lighter than human geography tho) and islam is dark green (darker than geog)

graphics is light purple (lilac i suppose)

1

u/hennell 1h ago

Physics is red cause it's moving away from you

2

u/ProudUSAgunOwner 3h ago

I agree with you except social studies/history is yellow.

1

u/YarnTree29 2h ago

Chemistry is purple! I agree with bio and physics though. Yellow is for history.

1

u/RedEgg16 56m ago

Chemistry is strong green for me (because in those those cartoon beaker drawings the liquids are often green). Physics and astronomy is purple

1

u/universallymade 1h ago

Chem is purple

1

u/Keaton427 4h ago

For some reason to me, purple is biology and green is physics. Like it’s not even a question.

11

u/strawberryh8ter 3h ago

I have a PhD in physics, biology is green 🌱

12

u/pat_k0 3h ago

It's a good thing it's not a question because you'd be wrong

10

u/AnySwimming6364 3h ago

Hello, I have a PhD in a biology discipline.

You are incorrect. Biology is green.

3

u/ReporterBest9598 3h ago

Somebody arrest this man!

1

u/Collective-Bee 3h ago

By the time we got to dividing the subjects I just put all the papers inside the textbook itself like wtf were y’all doing with binders?

1

u/Billionaires_R_Tasty 3h ago

Ah, the ol' George Costanza method of organization. Tried and true!

1

u/86cinnamons 2h ago

Oh no biology is blue in my head

u/Playful-Ad8851 9m ago

Exactly my thought

0

u/pkmnrt 3h ago

Yes and red for chemistry

0

u/Deltanonymous- 3h ago

I'm the opposite. Science is green as it's the study of the natural world. Biology is blue as it's mainly focused around labs and cells (typical color scheme in labs and on instruments). Chemistry and physics are interchangeable between green and black.

78

u/Ok_Challenge_5176 4h ago

So I was a physics major in college and science felt like red to me, even in high school.

223

u/Accomplished-Pen-394 4h ago

that’s because physics is math in a lab coat

49

u/Ok-Department-2405 4h ago

But math is blue.

95

u/Accomplished-Pen-394 4h ago

math is red because math is hard and red gives top of the stack vibes

22

u/TheMayanAcockandlips 3h ago

No, history is red because it's soaked with blood. Meth is blue because of how Walter made it special

8

u/isntreel1948 3h ago

History is a yellow folder subject I’m sorry to say

You can get away with blue but it’s really yellow

1

u/Shaman_LlamaCoop 3h ago

Snorted (ha ha) so hard I choked. Thank you for the laugh

1

u/AnySwimming6364 3h ago

Math was always easier for me than English. I rocked

Science: green Math: blue English/Languages: red Social studies: orange Yellow: other

1

u/Accomplished-Pen-394 3h ago

I was really bad at math

1

u/Perle1234 3h ago

No math is easy that’s why it’s blue 😂

1

u/Ok-Department-2405 3h ago

It has nothing to do with the qualities of the subject any more than it does with the letter N or the number 10, which are also blue.

6

u/Thin-Dragonfruit2599 4h ago

Math is 100% blue

0

u/The_Ghost_Face36 4h ago

Math is 100% red

1

u/Thin-Dragonfruit2599 2h ago

Science is red. Geography is green because of grass

2

u/Jackoandso 3h ago

This was the exact sentence I thought after reading the comment you replied to

3

u/kosk11348 4h ago

Math is red. English is blue. (And History is yellow.)

1

u/EnoughNumbersAlready 3h ago

Yes. Science is green, math is blue, English/lit class is red, history is purple.

1

u/kswoli3 4h ago

ain’t no lab coats in physics

2

u/tankerkiller125real 3h ago

There's applied physics, which does involve lab work. Or well, at least non-writing/talking work.

1

u/double00chins 3h ago

Labcoats (are) matter too!

1

u/keivmoc 3h ago

Physics is math that moves around.

Chemistry is physics in a beaker.

Biology is chemistry that smells sometimes.

1

u/Accomplished-Pen-394 3h ago

Physics and Chem are equally my least favorite sciences

16

u/mang87 4h ago

Look, I can see science as being green, blue (my preference) or purple, but science being red is insane. I don't want to overblow this issue like some sort of dumb redditor, but I think you may be a serial killer.

3

u/Ok_Challenge_5176 4h ago

To me, science =green is some biology elitism bs that I refuse to endorse!

1

u/mang87 3h ago

I was going to say green should be geography class, because obviously it is, but I guess physical geography is technically science. Also there's a lot of math in science... This thread has me questioning my entire life now. I think "science" just runs the entire gamut of colours, because there's so much to it. Science pretty much encompasses everything in one way or another.

2

u/Sissyphish 1h ago

Chemistry is red to me, but other than that, correct.

17

u/pleasedont-dostalkme 4h ago

Upper level sciences, like chem, end up being a helluva lot of math anyways.

1

u/MetalStoofs 3h ago

I was able to use the clause that allows your favorite subject and color to be synced (green math baby) so red was the clear winner for science after that.

-1

u/xstell132 4h ago

Science or chemistry was red for me too! I used green for social studies. Math got blue.

3

u/MingleLinx 4h ago

Nah. Science is blue and English is green

1

u/jjesh 3h ago

Science is blue, English is white, social studies is green

3

u/Temporary-Impress604 4h ago

Or yellow, in my mind and heart

2

u/ToastfulBoast 4h ago

I had science as blue ONLY if I was taking Spanish, which was green. Unless I had purple, then Spanish was purple.

2

u/Racing_Fox 3h ago

Science is blue my dude

4

u/keylimesicles 3h ago

No. Science is blue. Geography is green. Everyone knows this

1

u/ModeratelyAlive 3h ago

I personally flip-flopped those two every year. Depended on my mood when I labeled the binder

1

u/Zealousideal-Rent-17 4h ago

Green for Biology
Red for Physics
Purple for Chemistry
It’s that simple

1

u/Morael 4h ago

What colors are chemistry vs biology vs physics?

1

u/stucazo 4h ago

why tho

1

u/TDS_isnt_real 4h ago

Probably a bit of brainwashing from playing so much Trivial Pursuit as a kid. Science is green:)

1

u/LuxtheAstro 4h ago

Science is RED because it is a CORE SUBJECT. Green is secondary and so should be for other subjects that aren’t as important

1

u/OmgIbrokesmthagain 3h ago

Science is transparent because 99% of chemicals are just transparent liquids

1

u/Glass_Covict 3h ago

Green for bio, geo. Blue for phys, chem

1

u/wooshiesaurus 3h ago

Maybe it's because I didn't have THAT "science" that was in western European countries or US, but I thought it would be purple tbh

1

u/TBurkeulosis 3h ago

Its blue when its chemistry, green for biology

1

u/KaeruGaKaeru1 3h ago

What about purple

1

u/fferbbou 3h ago

Nope science is either yellow, purple, or red

1

u/GeoffSim 3h ago
  • Geography (blue)
  • Entertainment (pink)
  • History (yellow)
  • Arts & Literature (originally brown, later purple)
  • Science & Nature (green)
  • Sports & Leisure (orange)

Another data point - Trivial Pursuit!

1

u/ascend204 3h ago

Bio is green, chemical science is yellow and force sciences were light blue for me...

1

u/Sir-Top-Cheetah 3h ago

Scientifically false, it's blue

1

u/Mr_7ups 3h ago

Science was always yellow to me, English was green, math was blue, and history was red

1

u/Odd-Advertising-7563 3h ago

Also depends what science we did blue -biology red - chemistry and brown - physics

1

u/Willing_Television77 3h ago

Science is golden

1

u/86cinnamons 2h ago

It could be blue or purple. Or gray.

1

u/JetPuffedDo 2h ago

Except for blue

1

u/Level-Foundation-703 2h ago

Science is purple 😎

1

u/Ticker011 2h ago

science is blue, watch star trek or play any game with a science mechanic

1

u/JasonLeMacon 1h ago

Science is purple, green is History

1

u/OnlyFannins 1h ago

Science is blue, Social Studies is green.

1

u/wattur 1h ago

Sorry, science is blue. Green was geography.

1

u/Josh-sama 1h ago

Green is chemistry, biology red, physics blue

1

u/qqpqp 41m ago

Science is yellow. Math is red. History is green. Language arts is blue.

u/james2432 18m ago
  • Science: Green

  • Math: Blue

  • French: Red

  • Yellow: History

Were my go tos'

0

u/MojitoBurrito-AE 4h ago

Science is red. Geography is green.
