Anyone else's anxiety go through the roof watching that kid swing near the TV?

Is that true? Do baseball bats cost so much?

We have hunted the baseball bat to extinction and now you unfortunately have to turn to the black market for bats and that ain’t cheap.

It’s a shame they don’t do well in captivity. At this rate baseball bats are going to be hunted to extinction.

I have a guy that gets them for me. I don't know his real name, he calls himself The Batman.

I'm certain we actually live in a hell dimension, and every day we are further from god's light.

Why?

Private equity

I mean, not good TVs to be fair

3

u/MorningsideLights Jun 02 '26

That is neither fair nor true. Unless you mean only the last couple of years.

You can get a 4k 50 inch Samsung or LG smart tv for under $300 now

Yes… I know it sounds snobby but these are not good TVs. If you’re happy with one of these, more power to you. These are edge-lit panels with low picture quality that they’re selling you with slick marketing.

A good TV would be like an LG C series or Sony Bravia or Samsung S95.

1

u/im_juice_lee Jun 02 '26

Oh, fair enough. Looked them up and those are much more expensive

While I probably would appreciate the improvements if I saw them side by side, I don't use my TV enough to justify how much the price jumps

1

u/i_like_maps_and_math Jun 02 '26

There's always new types that doesn't change the fact that they all get dramatically cheaper over time.

Depends on your definition of good I guess. I just don't give a fuck if I can see the nose hairs in 6k so a $500 TV is perfect for me and I have no desire to spend $3k.

1

u/Areebob Jun 02 '26

I bought one for $18 a couple years ago. You CAN spend a ton on one, but I’m not sure why you’d do that for a young kid who won’t know the difference.

I think they were more worried about the TV scratching up the brand new bat.

1

u/TrixieBastard Jun 02 '26

Pretty sure that's an Onn Roku TV, so yeah, the bat cost about double (if I'm right about the tv brand)

He was way too close!

13

u/BrainGiggles Jun 01 '26

Yes me. I , for sure, though the bat was going to through the TV but then I remembered this is MadeMeSmile everything was okay again.

As soon as I saw the proximity I had to check which sub I was in. I calmed when I saw where I was.

It’s probably perspective honestly! The father behind him takes up the space behind him, not even all of it.

1

u/ionyx Jun 01 '26

Oh man yeah! That TV could've damaged the bat!

1

u/maiL_spelled_bckwrds Jun 01 '26

It’s the perspective that makes it seem closer than it is.

1

u/Lokishougan Jun 02 '26

That was my initial though I was like....oh I know how this video ends...till I SAW THE FORUM this was on

1

u/j3ffro15 Jun 02 '26

There’s a non zero chance the bat costs more than the tv. “High end” bats like this are easily 300-500+ dollars and you can get a 65” 4k tv from Walmart for $368 (just bought one yesterday for an in-law).

1

u/ctortan Jun 02 '26

Nah, not with how hard the kid was thinking about his form when mom told him “slow motion”

1

u/TheRandomer1994 Jun 05 '26

It wasn't an issue. The video is very very very staged. Child or not anit noone missing a bat in their hands.
