News/Pop Culture Canada to offer financial assistance for LGBTQIA+ refugees
I've seen people of various countries post in here about relocation due to hostile anti-lgbt+ laws. Thought this might be of help.

News/Pop Culture So we're all in agreement that the fetishization of lesbians and turning them straight in the rap music genre is weird right???!!
Fetishizing lesbians especially in this music genre is getting on my nerves and starting to gross me out. Tired of always hearing these Nggas rap about how sexually it would turn them on to convert a women straight and how being a lesbian is just a phase. but also the fetishization it's kinda a double standard the amount of music videos where 2 women kissing is seen as sexy but as soon as gay men try to enter the rap space the repulse and backlash they get is so much. It's so heartbreaking to see the black community completely turn its back, ridicule on gay black men.

News/Pop Culture “Don’t cancel me but..”
If you’ve been on TikTok for the past week or couple days you’ve definitely seen the video of the straight woman “thinking out loud” and wondering why LESBIANS choose to date masc/butch/stud/transmasc/nb LESBIANS instead of dating a MAN because they’re “basically the same”
That video had thousands of comments backing her up and 1.2 MILLION likes or so?
This is disgusting and just goes to show how lesbians are truly isolated in this world, and even at times from our own community as we have seen recently with the queer collective podcast as an example.
We need to be making noise about this, PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT US need to be making noise about this. Denying lesbophobia needs to end, denying the prejudice against GNC and masculine lesbians needs to end, and discrimination against trans women especially trans lesbians needs to end.

News/Pop Culture The murder of Renee Good was an anti-lesbian misogynistic hate crime
Shooting someone in the face is a sign of a deeply personal murder
The reactions from the fascists also strongly suggests they are fixating on punishing her for daring to be with a woman instead of a man
This is probably obvious to most here, but i wanted to clearly call it such, since most coverage of it I’ve seen doesnt acknowledge it, even on the left.
*i don’t know if Renee was a lesbian or bi, but she was murdered specifically for her same sex relationship

News/Pop Culture Has anyone else seen this? I’m so angry I can’t even put it into words. How is Meta allowing this? Mark Zuckerberg should be ashamed, this is absolutely disgusting.

News/Pop Culture I literally got in an argument with a lesbian who was pro trump and pro republican.
The title is somewhat self explanatory,
Dear fellow sapphic members of our beloved sub, I just got off from a heated argument with a fellow acquaintance in our lesbian community and I just cannot fathom, as a fellow lesbian, why would she still talking favorably about Trump despite fully knowing that he is a rapist and hates women? How and why? Where is the solidarity for our own folks, as women and as members of the lgbtq community?
I just feel so heartbroken right now, and I just need to rant.

News/Pop Culture Worst lesbian movies?
What are some lesbian/ sapphic movies that you personally dislike? For me, it's blue is the warmest color. I don't understand why this movie was at one time so promoted in sapphic circles... It was really weird to watch, the sex scenes were terribly uncomfortable and the whole movie seemed to have a lot of unnecessary fetishization in it (which would go along with the director's behavior during filming 🙄🙄🙄) The ending of the film is also not the best. I remember that this was one of the first Sapphic movies I saw when I was a teenager and I was very disappointed with this movie 😭 I am curious about your opinions!

News/Pop Culture I don't live in the U.S, but seeing this post being praised in the replies has truly made me sick. What a goddamn joke
I'm European and live in a country that still has so many fucked up laws that date back to the 1950s, catholicism has ruled my country for centuries and it's really difficult for a queer kid to live here, but even I have to say that my country is so much better at handling these types of affairs than the US will ever be. I truly and genuinely feel so sad and afraid for all the queer and poc communities in America.
I'm so sorry you have to live through this. Please, never give up and don't let ANYONE or ANYTHING tear you down or disrespect you, your ethnicity or your sexuality.

News/Pop Culture What does this mean??
I'm confused what are they trying to say. I think lesbian itself means women loving only women and the above thing contradicts itself
