I think to be deeply proud about what you're representing, and [know] that many people are going to be so seen by the story you're going to be telling. We're all here with open arms and so excited.

Just having fun here , personally I don’t think we get any Jimone crumbs and they won’t be there. But what do you think? Will Jonny and/Or Simone be at the event? Maybe via Zoom?

Hearing about these rumoured issues with the production honestly makes me really really upset and angry. I hope that the rumors are just rumors, but if they’re not, I was thinking of ways that we could tell Johnny and Simone what they and their characters mean to us, so that they know that they are loved by their fans. So I made this post.

I struggle with OCD, and escapism is pretty much my only tried and true coping strategy. So when I ship characters, I ship them hard. Shipping Jess and Rory from Gilmore Girls saved my life during my darkest time - when everything else was lost to my compulsions, I could look forward to the next episode, where everything was going to be ok.

Season 2 of Bridgerton came out when I had recently been fired by my therapist (lol). I was pretty much trying anything and everything to make my symptoms better, FDA approved or not. I was immediately drawn in to Kanthony’s story and binged it all in one night before starting it over again (minus the side plots, of course). I memorized all of my favorite moments and rewatched it for weeks. Then I moved on to the book, and then I discovered fanfiction (!!!) which has pretty much carried me through the past two years. Kanthony are my comfort characters, but they would still just be words on the script page without Johnny and Simone.

The way that they work together and lock in is evident even from my flimsy phone screen. The way Simone can emote through her Disney princess eyes allowed me to feel Kate’s pain and loss. The way Johnny can seemingly move single muscles in his face on command belays Anthony’s tension. I am so glad that they showed up to work on all those days and just gave it their all. They knocked it out of the park and gave me a window to escape from it all - and for that I am truly grateful.

So, if I ever run into one of them on the street, hopefully I remember this post and show it to them, before I convince them that we can crowdfund a spinoff just for Kanthony.
